Some people opine that home appliances like washing machines and dishwashers and communication tools like the internet and smart phones make our lives more complicated and elevate our stress levels. I do not agree with this view. While I do admit that overdependence on technology might lead to unexpected situations and increased stress, judicious use of technology will certainly reduce our stress levels by making our lives easier.

To begin with, time is the most precious commodity in this world. Generally speaking, any technology that saves time is beneficial for us. Modern innovations like emails and the internet make communication superfast and thus save a lot of time which can be used for more productive things. For example, these days technology has enabled many people to work from home. This allows them to save precious time which would otherwise have been consumed by the daily commute. They can use that time to build better relationships or to cultivate a hobby. Studies have shown that people who have time for themselves and their family tend to have considerably low levels of stress.

In addition to that, the labour saving devices significantly reduce the amount of energy and effort required to perform tasks. Consequently both individuals and businesses are able to get more work done in less time and with less effort. This conserves their energy which they can use for playing a sport or doing some other tasks that they enjoy. For example, if people have sufficiently higher levels of energy even after completing the day’s work, they can perhaps go for walk in the evening or do some gardening. Both activities will refresh their mind and benefit their physical health.

On the flip side, excessive use of technology and overdependence on it can certainly be problematic. For example, these days due to social media addiction most people have an uncontrollable need to stay connected to the internet all the time. If they lose connectivity even for a few minutes, their stress levels peak. The misuse and abuse of technology also lead to many problems. However, these issues can be resolved by using technology only for the intended purpose.

To conclude, even though new-age scientific inventions create dependency and unexpected problems, if they are used moderately and wisely they will definitely reduce our stress levels.

Many people want their country to host an international sporting event. Others believe that international sporting events bring more problems than benefits. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples.

According to a section of society, an international sports event should be conducted in their own nation. However, others strongly believe that this event offers more drawbacks than advantages. This essay will shed some light on both the perspectives before reaching a reasoned conclusion.

Some people put forth the argument that hosting an international event has an extremely negative effect on the nation. This is because security threats can be caused by a group of terrorists. In other words, millions of tourists are attracted to these popular games from across the globe. Consequently, this location would be the major hub to plan some illegal activities or terrorism. For example, as per the recent study by the world security organisation, it was revealed that the majority of the terrorist group attempted their destruction plan on the nations, where an international sport was held.

Despite the above stated negative consequences, many individuals opine that organising global sports events certainly brings numerous merits to the country. The first and foremost advantage is that due to the influx of more and more people to the host country, it enhances the opportunities to explore culture and customs. During the holidays or after the event timings, tourists roam across the city in order to shop or to understand the local inhabitants. Another positive impact is that the host country gains an international prestige of managing an extraordinary well-known occasion. Finally, the nation’s economy will be flourished and can earn a lucrative income. For instance, the Indian times reported that during the period of Asian Olympic games which was hosted in India, 2011, it was discovered that the tourism and economy of the country were progressed two-fold times than ever before.

In conclusion, although a certain proportion of the population believes that hosting an international event has a detrimental effect on the communities. Nevertheless, I strongly affirm that the advantages far outweigh the drawbacks.

Globalisation has both advantages and disadvantages. Discuss both view and give your opinion.

It is often argued that globalization has more negative consequences, while others opine that it has positive benefits for the development of a nation. This essay will shed some light on both merits and demerits of this aforementioned statement and concludes with my opinion.

On the one hand, a segment of the population claim that globalization is not always beneficial to everyone. This is because companies can move to countries where labour is cheap and thus created redundancies, or job losses. Owing to this, Employees cannot be confident that they have stable jobs to develop their career. Furthermore, global trade creates more waste and pollution and thus it is detrimental to the environment. For example, Wired magazines recently reported that 75% of the migrant workers lost their employment due to the small-scale and large-scale corporations discontinued their global agreement with the host country.

Despite some problems stated above, there are certainly numerous advantages that globalization brings to the nation and its people. The first and foremost merit is businesses are becoming increasingly international and multi-national companies di business across the world. Companies like Macdonald’s can be seen on high streets in most cities. Another positive aspect is that it has not only brought individuals closer, but also helped them prosper by providing more opportunities to travel, work, and study anywhere. Consequently, this has also led to exposure to other cultures, making humankind more broad-minded and accepting. For instance, according to a study conducted by Oxford University found that globalization has strengthened political relationships and reduce poverty in the developing world.

In conclusion, although globalization has some significant drawbacks. However, in my opinion, this trend offers more advantages than demerits.

In today’s fast pace life, labour-saving devices and communications tools are boon to mankind. While some percentage of society may argue that these devices are curse and increase the stress instead, I believe that wise usage of these devices would work as a stress reliever tablet.
On the one hand, labour-saving devices such as dishwashers, washing machines, etc decrease the stress of an individual by making their everyday task easy. Tasks which require lots of physical power and time, can be done with an ease in no time. Even a help from another person is not required to perform any task. Old people and even children after certain age can use these devices and can execute any task. For an instance, performing all the household work like washing clothes, cleaning, cooking, etc would have been otherwise difficult for senior citizens residing alone. Communication devices such as computers and phones also decrease the stress by making you feel connected to your family and friends even if you are miles away. So overall, these devices help to eliminate stress and makes life easy.
On the other hand, excessive usage of these devices can turn out be a curse as well. Not only it would effect labour section of the society but also it may also trigger some health issues. Consider a situation where robots are installed in a factory to perform labour tasks with minimum human intervention. Would not it effect the job security of labour section? yes, and leads to a stressful situation. Over usage of communications tools like computers and phones may instigate health problems like spine issues, eyesight issues, etc and ultimately increases the stress. Hence, it must be ensured by an individual, society and government that wise can correct usage of these tools should be done in order to better serve to the society and decrease stress.
In conclusion, every coin has two sides, benefits come along with detriments. Although modern technology may increase stress in some situations but ensuring proper use of this technology would rather lead towards a stressful and easy life.
