Dear Sir or Madam,

I saw an advertisement given by your hospital for people who are willing to do unpaid work. I am writing this letter to express my interest in this job because basically I am a social worker.

After finishing my graduation, I have involved myself in various voluntary work. I have worked at hospitals too giving counseling to patients suffering from chronic illness. That is why this advertisement grabbed my attention. I can offer the same service to your patients.

I am working in the private sector, so I am available during weekends for helping people. It is my pleasure to use the leisure time to give back to the society / to serve the society. So I think this counseling session at the hospital would definitely help patients to build their mental strength and at the same time, I will also get greater satisfaction out of this. Please consider me for this job, as I am immediately available from this weekend onwards.
