You Would Like To Visit An Old Friend Who Lives In Another Country | Band 7.5 IELTS Letter Sample

You plan to do some traveling in a few months. You would like to visit an old friend who lives in another country. You haven’t spoken to this friend in a few years. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:

– Provide a short update about your life since you saw him/her last
– Explain why you will be traveling to his/her city

Dear Ricardo,

Hope you are doing well in life. It has been 5 years since we last met. A lot happened to me during the last five years. Actually, I resigned from my previous job and joined XXXX as a project lead. I also had to move from Florida to Boston for this job change. Things are going well at my new work place and I have traveled to many cities for business purposes.

I am planning to travel to London by the end of November for a business trip. I am still working on finalizing the dates. I will be staying in London for about 3 weeks and I will be working from Monday thru Friday. I am planning to roam around the city on weekends and travel to a couple of nearby cities. I would love to meet you and your family on one of the weekends.
