You will move to a new city for work. You know some people who live there. Write a letter to one of your friends. In your letter:

ask them for help finding accommodation

tell them where you would like to live

Dear Joe,

Hope you and your family are all doing fine. I am coming to your city to start a new career and am writing to ask for your help in order to find the best suitable accommodation for me. You have been living there for around 5 years. So, you must be quite familiar with that place.

As my new company is situated in the centre of the city, I would prefer to have an apartment in its vicinity. The reason for this is that living in the suburb / countryside will pose a great deal of challenges for me in the current traffic situation.

It would be perfect / ideal if you can manage to look for a one bed-room flat. Moreover, it should be fully furnished with basic facilities such as hot water and air conditioning. Needless to say, the apartment ought to have a lift because I am a heart patient and cannot climb the staircase on my own.

Take care of your family and convey my regards to your parents. I will come and take a look at the flat as soon as you give me a call.
