Band 8 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have left a portfolio of some important papers in your hotel. I stayed in Room No.406 of your hotel. Those papers are really important for me and I hope that you will assist me to get them back.

Let me give you more details about them. As I knew the papers are important, I had kept them cautiously in the bedroom safety vault. I had a morning flight but unfortunately I overslept. As I was in a hurry to leave I forgot to retrieve the file from the vault. Those papers are extremely confidential in nature and it is imperative for me to get hold of them as soon as possible.

I will be visiting the premises of hotel this afternoon. Would it be possible for you to hand over these documents at that point of time? My contact number is 41234 56779, in case you need to call me.

I am looking forward to your response.

Yours Sincerely,

Ashutosh Bhosle

    Dear John,

I am Alicia Jack who recently attended All Hands meeting at Fall Hall meeting room in our hotel, held on 11th September 2019. I am writing this letter to inform you that I have lost my presentation papers after the tea party. It would be extremely helpful if you could inform your staff about the missing, so they could keep an eye on it while cleaning the premises.

Let me explain in detail, the file has 25 papers that are colored pale green with the footer “Build a Strong Workforce” and author name as Alicia. The paper contains the company’s private data about the employee statistics which should be kept confidential. The loss of these papers would put the company and me in trouble due to the issue of personal data leakage.

Soon after the presentation, the tea party began in the snack counter left to the auditorium. I placed the file on counter number 1 to help myself to collect snacks, and later due to the rush I found those documents missing. I am utmost sure that these documents would have been handed over to the venue managers by the cleaning staff, if not could you please inform the staff on it.

It would be of great help if you could inform the management about the missing. I assure you that your help would be rewarded in the form of an assurance, that our company would choose your hotel as our venue for all the meetings going forward.

Looking at an immediate response from you on this missing.

    Yours sincerely,
    Alicia Jack

    Dear Sir,
I am writing to you to inform you that I left my documents at your hotel.
I had a conference held at the main Banquet Hall on 11th November for which I stayed in room 512. I kept the documents inside a blue envelope with name “Regina” on the top. Unfortunately, I kept the envelope unattended inside the drawer beside my bed.
The document contains some important documents related to company’s financial growth in the previous year. Finding this envelope is extremely important as it also has some confidential data. Moreover, some of the points related to our upcoming project was also noted down in a paper which was placed along with these documents.
Could you please ask your staff to check whether the documents are available in the mentioned room? It would be great if you can keep the item with you. I am travelling to Benham next week and would be able to collect it from you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Yours faithfully,
    Parvathy R

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to report a lost property. Last week, I came to Toronto in order to attend a meeting. So I was a guest in your hotel from Saturday to Tuesday and my room number was 134A.

Unfortunately, on my last day of the trip I wanted to do some shopping, so I went to a shopping mall and eventually I found that I was very late that I might miss the flight. Thus, I rushed to the hotel and started collecting my stuff quickly. Consequently, I forgot these important papers on the desk beside the bed.

Obviously, These papers are very crucial for my work. As they contain details of a contract I had made during the meeting with another company which I should give to my manager in three days.

Kindly ship them to me via express shipping and please send me your bank account details so I will transfer all the shipping costs to it.

    Thank you kindly in advance.

    Yours faithfully,
    Chris Adam

I am writing this letter to inquire about some documents that I might have misplaced while attending a conference at your esteemed hotel “JW Marriot” on 24th of October. The conference was held at the “Royal” banquet hall. I am quite sure that I had left those documents unattended at the above mentioned banquet hall. They should be in a brown folder with my name “Avik” written on top of it.

I would humbly request if you could please ask your stuff to conduct a thorough search of the banquet hall in order to find the documents, in case they have not been found already during your cleaning. If you find the documents, please give me a call at my mobile number 7788136711 and I would be more than happy to collect them from your hotel at your earliest convenience.

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I forgot some documents at your hotel.

Yesterday, I attended a meeting at your hotel in the conference room and after the meeting; it was feeling sleepy so I went to the restaurant and for coffee. I was checking my emails while having coffee and I forgot an important file there while leaving.

The file had some private information about our company and project and was extremely confidential. Moreover, it was a report about my upcoming project and all the instructions about that project given by the client were in that file. It would be very difficult for me to complete this project without that report file.

I want you to ask your staff members of the restaurant if they find any black color file on the last table in the restaurant and if you found please contact me as soon as possible so that I can visit and collect it from you. You can contact me on 9988751813 in case you need it.

I am looking forward to your response.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Priyanka Tuli.
