Band 8 IELTS essay sample

Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m writing this to inquire about the list of expensive purchases shown in my credit card statement for the last month. I did not buy those things.

To begin with, I made my last transaction on the 28th of March. In addition to that I see a few other transactions in the statement which I’m totally unaware of. The transactions were made at around the same time at luxury hotels at two different locations. As I cannot be present in two places simultaneously, this is not practically possible. , which is practically impossible. Also, I received neither a message nor an e-mail regarding these purchases made with my card. I suspect that this could be a glitch in the application or an issue with the statement generation for the month.

This problem needs immediate resolution. I have been a loyal customer of your bank for long. Although I had faced a similar issue with the services in the past, it got rectified in no time. You may call me directly or assign one of your associates to contact me so that I can provide proof of my bills. Also, I request you to resend the revised statement to avoid further confusion on the bill payment.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Band 8 IELTS letter sample 2

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Rahul Madhav and I hold a credit card issued by your bank. I am writing to raise a dispute regarding some of the transactions I am seeing on my credit card statement dated 9th September 2021. Kindly allow me to elaborate.

In the document, I can see a total of 20 transactions, out of which only the first 15 were made by me. The last 5 transactions were not made by me and I believe that there was some fraudulent activity in my account. As advised by the bank, I have not shared my credit card details with anyone. I have also enabled SMS alerts for the transactions. As for these five transactions, I am not familiar with the merchant names and I did not receive SMS confirmations either.

I request you to block my credit card with immediate effect and send me a new card for my future use. I would also like to receive an updated statement and invoice with only the first 15 transactions from the current statement. Please let me know how I can raise a complaint with the cyber security department and what steps I should take to ensure such activities do not re-occur in the future.

Looking forward to prompt action from your end.

Yours Sincerely,

Rahul Madhav

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to report about some discrepancies that I have found in my credit card statement.
My name is Irfan Safdar and I am a resident of Islamabad. I am maintaining a saving account at your bank branch, and my account number is 234567. I am also availing the services of Visa credit card, and the card number is 35345353.
I have received my monthly credit card statement from your bank, and I have found two unauthorized transactions amounting to $650 and $800. The statement shows that these transactions were made in Istanbul, Turkey, but I can assure you that I did not purchase these items, because I was not in Dubai during last month and my credit card was in my bank locker.

I would much appreciate if you can please look into the details of these transactions, and remove them from my account statement. In case you need any evidence from my side, please let me know so that I can share it with you.

I look forward to hearing from you soon with regards to the reversal of these transactions.

    Yours faithfully,

    Irfan Safdar
