Band 7 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to express my disappointment regarding the service provided by your company while shifting my furniture from Dubai to London.

The goods were shipped from Dubai on October 25th and delivered to my new address in London on November 28th, under the cargo number “A56W28”.

Although I emphasized to the movers’ team that my furniture was mainly antiques and require extra care, I could see they weren’t cautious enough. First of all my antique table which I bought on my last trip to Thailand was damaged and one of its legs is broken. This table cost me a fortune, and on top of that, it is unique and irreplaceable. The TV screen is also broken. It was a Samsung 52 inch with a curved screen.

I would like your company to compensate for the damages. You can send me a new but same model TV, or pay the equivalent cost of the same model. Regarding the table, it cost me around ten thousand dollars and although the money cannot replace the table, but I would expect to receive the exact amount.

Please do not hesitate to contact, if you required any more clarification.

Yours Faithfully,

Sanam Pourtehrani
