Band 8 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to highlight the problems that I am facing with the accommodation provided by your institute. I need immediate resolution to this problem because it is bothering me a lot.

I am basically from India and came here to pursue a six-month diploma course at your academy. The apartment allotted to me is neither clean nor furnished. The bathrooms stink; the furniture is broken. I cannot even close the bathroom door properly because the bolt does not work. In addition, my room is cramped.

In your institute’s brochure, it is explicitly stated that the rooms offered are fully furnished and spacious. Also, during my enquiry, I was assured that the living rooms are in good conditions as shown in the pamphlet’s pictures.

As I have to stay for almost half a year, it will be really difficult for me to adjust to this place. I insist that you check with your Admin department if there is any lapse in the room assignment procedure. I hope that you will allot me a livable and furnished apartment at the earliest.

I look forward to hearing from you

Yours faithfully,

    Dear Oliver,

I have a problem regarding the accommodation which you have arranged for me. This is too far from the campus site and every day, I have to wake up too early in the morning to attend my classes.

As per your course prospectus, I hoped that student’s accommodation would be very near to campus and it would save my lot of commute time that I could devote to studying the course materials. This was also my primary reason to select your campus over others. When I got my apartment, I excepted that pick and drop facilities will be provided for the students who are living in the faraway apartments from the campus. But the campus management also disappointed me here.

Meanwhile, I came to know that the course for web designing is ended and many students are leaving the campus accommodation. I would like to you to arrange a place there. Please, consider my request on priority.

I will highly appreciate your prompt action.

    Your faithfully,
    Sarbjeet Singh

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to highlight the issues i encountered on arrival to the accommodation allocated to me by the institution . I hope you see reasons to my complains and find a way to resolve this issue .
I am from Nigeria and i came here to further my studies in a six months diploma course at your institution , which i thoroughly checked the accommodation on your brochures before applying for this course , and i was delighted by what i saw in the pamphlet , but on arrival , what i met was disheartening .I can barely shut my room door , which is not safe because of my luggage. The toilet and bathroom leak a lot and it makes the room smell in a bad way ,making it uncomfortable for me to live there , the air conditioner is also not functioning properly and i feel , I wont be happy until this is resolved .
However , Kindly look into this matter and have your repair team come over to work on it ,very soon when i am around or better still, if there is any free accommodation, where i can move my things into and settle into to prepare for my lectures , pending when this is resolved would be way better .

i hope to hear from you soon,

    Yours sincerely .

    Linda.

    Dear Sir,
I am writing with regard to the terrible condition of my new place which you have kindly offered to me.
As long as I have moved here, I am in love with the peaceful and quiet neighborhood, but there are some niggling problems with the house. The most important one is that there is not any lock on the doors and the windows are cracked therefore I am scared of the nights and getting robbed or attacked by burglars. Also, the floor tiles are cracked and there is mild and mildew growing around the shower. I am afraid that may risk my health.
Before I start the course, some photos of the new place were sent to me. Accordingly, I was supposed to see a big spacious one-story house with all brand new constructions materials and fully furnished. Also, it was well-designed in the pictures as modern as the luxurious house
By the way, I would be very grateful if you could send someone over to fix the locks and windows for my security. Otherwise, that would be very kind of you if you could arrange another accommodation for my short stay in this city
I would like to leave with great memories and look forward to hearing from you.
