Band 8 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my concerns regarding a couple of items in your new house. My name is Rachel Green. I have rented your town house number 9 in new town complex situated on CC Block and have recently moved there with my family.

The house was rented to us along with the furniture earlier this Month. The outdoor furniture, a cupboard and a chair, are not being used by my family and we can see some wooden dust at the bottom of the outside cupboard every day. We see it as an indication of a serious termite infestation. This termite infestation requires your attention urgently. Our request is to move the outdoor furniture from the house on a priority basis. Should the infestation spread, it will affect the entire wooden furniture in the house.

Moreover, we have observed some dents and scratches on the indoor furniture. Most of the scratches are on the sofa set placed in the living room. These scratches look unpleasant and affect the decor. I request you to arrange for the repairs and polish for the indoor furniture at your earliest convenience.

I thank you for your consideration and request the necessary action at once.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Green
