Band 7 IELTS essay sample
I’m extremely sorry for not returning the bike I borrowed from you a couple of days back. I met with an accident and the bike is heavily damaged.
After I took the bike from your place on Wednesday, I went to a dinner party at 9PM. The party lasted till 12 pm and we all were sleepy and tired. In order to save fuel and time, we attempted tripling. We were confident that we would reach safely but unfortunately, a dog suddenly jumped on our way and we lost control over the vehicle. We hit the road separator and fell off the bike. All of us were then taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. I have been suffering from an immense sense of guilt from the moment I got to know from my friends that your vehicle is completely damaged.
As soon as I recover I will get your bike fixed by replacing the broken parts with new ones. Also, I will get it tested thoroughly to make sure that all the components are functioning properly.
Once again, sincere apologies!
