Books plays vital role in the gaining knowledge in every domain, but nowadays online books are more popular than printed / paper books. Some people argue that it is a good change; however, others disagree with this view. In this essay, I will explain the pros and cons of this debate with relevant examples.

To commence with, electronic books are easy to carry because we can store these on our phone or laptop. For example, I was a science student it was so hard for me to bring each book to college every day, but in this era, children do not have to bring those. They just need to take their laptop with them instead of all books. The second merit is the instant availability of these books as we can get these books by the next minute after making the payment. Clearly, we do not have to wait for weeks or months for books.

Turning to the other side of the argument, printed paper books are good for eyes as we do not get exposed to the radiation coming from the laptop. Moreover, some studies have shown that the constant exposure to the rays coming from the phone or laptop affects the eyesight of people. Paper books are also excellent for teaching young children as they enjoy flipping the pages and scribbling on them. For example, my four year old niece loves the colorful pages of books a lot more than the black and white displays of eBook readers.

To conclude, although e-books are cheaper and easier to carry, paper books are beneficial for the eyes and a good source of fun and knowledge for young children.
