Economic prosperity almost always comes at the expense of animals. I opine that it is vital to protect all species and their livelihoods, and we have so much to do to help them.
It is our paramount duty to protect wildlife in general and endangered species in particular as uncontrolled and unsustainable human activities are the root causes of their extinction. If even just one species becomes threatened or extinct, it has a domino effect on the entire ecosystem. It disrupts the food chain, sending shockwaves through the environment. For instance, the things that threaten honeybees also endanger other pollinators. Humans definitely suffer from it, and it is happening now. Furthermore, diversity means healthier ecosystems, which have much diversity. A wide variety of wild animals means greater productivity and better health. If there are fewer animal species, a disease that affects them spreads faster and becomes more disruptive. By contrast, more variety means better resistance. Thus, we must act on this imminent problem without further delays and enforce the solutions right away.
Despite the seriousness and urgency of this pressing issue, there are several possible ways to remedy the situation. One way to protect animals is to prevent deforestation. When forests are cleared animals lose their habitat and their survival becomes difficult. Promoting reforestation is thus a sure fire way to protect animals. Strict animal welfare laws are required too. Hunting and poaching must be banned.
To conclude, wild animals are indispensable to our ecosystem and must be protected as a whole. All the stakeholders in the world must join together to play their roles in solving this pressing issue.
