Nowadays, global warming is one of the major threats to the living beings on the earth. Human beings as well as other creatures have been experiencing huge problems. Rising global temperature leads to many catastrophic effects such as; floods, earthquakes, droughts, forest fire and famine so on. This essay will postulate the consequences of increasing temperature and some of the viable measures to solve these problems.

Firstly, increasing temperature causes the artic ice to melt at a rapid rate, which leads to fast disappearance of glaciers in the north as well as in the south pole; as a result, sea level will rise at an alarming rate. Furthermore, expanding ocean level may lead to the swallowing of coastal areas of many nations around the world. For example, island nations like Kiribati and Maldives are already experiencing the effect of rising sea level. Their coastal areas have been submerged putting enormous pressure on the livelihood of these nations. As a result, people have no choice but to leave their country and migrate to other neighbouring countries.

In addition to this, animal lives are also at the risk of extinction because the fast disappearance of ice leaves no place for polar animals like bear and seal to hunt or inhabit. This undoubtedly leads to the extinction of these mammals. Secondly, global warming causes forest fire. Recently, many places around the globe have witnessed such incidents. For example, wild fires in Australia killed numerous animals and destroyed millions of trees. Furthermore, global warming affects climate patterns and consequently while some areas experience floods, others have no rain for years.

Nevertheless, earth has its own power to repair itself. If we perform activities such as planting trees, preserving wild life, minimizing the usage of natural resources, and encouraging solar power instead of fuel excreta, we can certainly help the earth to sustain lives. Apart from that, spreading awareness among the people, young generation in particular about the changing pattern of the environment and ways to preserve its uniqueness will improve the situation.

To sum up, I would like to assert that natural world is unique and spectacular.  Increasing global heat creates catastrophic effects which make the earth an uninhabitable place, unless we act fast to stop is destruction by planting more trees and reducing the consumption of natural resources and energy.
