It is believed that the invention of cell phone technology has created social, medical and technical problems for individuals and societies. However, I believe that having a mobile phone offers plenty of benefits which outweigh the disadvantages. This essay will take a look at both sides of the argument.
To begin with, there are a few disadvantages to mobile phone use. Firstly, they affect our social life. Due to cell phones, we are becoming more individualistic. For example, before this trend, on the occasion of Diwali people used to meet their relatives, friends and neighbours. But, nowadays they just greet on phone calls and messages and some people go on tour with their families. Secondly, excessive use of mobile phones can affect our eyesight as well as cause mental stress. For instance, if children play games like PUBG excessively, they get disturbed and it leads to less focus and concentration. Additionally, radiation from mobile phones can cause a cancer. In addition to this, there is number of technical issues also. Numerous hackers and fraudsters can cheat people or do frauds with this technology. For example, there are chances of theft of personal data and most important financial data.
On the other hand, the mobile phones are one of the most commonly used gadgets globally. Cell phones allow us to stay in contact with our family and friends through messages and calls. They have minimized the distance between people. Secondly, mobile phones provide us an opportunity to make friends online by using certain social media like Facebook and Instagram. This helps us to discover various cultures. Thirdly, cell phone is a immensely beneficial invention for students.
In conclusion, mobile phones certainly cause some problems. However, there are plenty of benefits to having access to them. In my opinion, we can overcome most of these problems by simply limiting the time spend on our phones.
