The table illustrates details over the years 1988 and 2000 and predictions for the year 2030 about the change in proportion of the elderly population aged 65 years and above in the three countries Canada, Germany, and the UK. Overall, the percentage of aged population in all the three countries not only experienced a growing trend over the years from 1988 to 2000 but also has been predicted an increase up till the year 2030. Notably, of the three countries Germany has the highest proportion and prediction of elderly population over the given period. As the table shows, the percentage of people aged 65 and above in Canada was 16.32% in 1988. This figure increased gradually to 20.67% in 2000. In 2030, this proportion has been predicted to rise to 26.35%. Regarding Germany, the proportion of aged population stood at 20.45% in1988. Subsequently, it climbed up steadily to 25.32% in 2000. Furthermore, this number has been predicted to go up to 30.42% in 2030. Meanwhile, the percentage of 65 and above senior population in the UK rose slightly from 14.23% in 1988 to 14.89% in 2000. This figure has been predicted to rise to 20.35% in 2030.
