The table illustrates / shows the proportion of urban and rural residents who enjoyed four leisure time activities in 1990 and 2010. Overall, it can be seen that reading was by far the most popular activity in both years among both urban and rural people. While in 1990, photography was the least popular activity, in 2010, that distinction went to animated play.

In 1990, as much as 61% of the urban people and 71% of the rural people enjoyed reading. By 2010, the proportion of both urban and rural folks engaging in reading increased to a whopping 78%. The second most popular activity in 1990 was playing with 21% of urbanites and 26% of country people enjoying it. In the same year, 10% of urban people and 18% of rural people engaged in animated play. Photography was the least popular activity in both cities (7%) and villages (14%) in 1990.

In 2010, reading remained the most popular activity in both urban and rural areas with an equal proportion of people (78%) participating in it. Animated play was the least popular activity in 2010 with just 10% of urban and 14% of rural people enjoying it. Interestingly, the popularity of playing decreased among urbanites from 21% in 1990 to 14% in 2010. There was no difference in its popularity among rural people in both years (26%). The popularity of photography increased considerably from 1990 to 2010 among both urban and rural folks.
