Any act that causes harm to another individual or a group of people, is considered as crime. Crimes are done with an intention to hurt someone intentionally. Crime rates of young offenders are definitely on the rise and researchers say that there has been over 52% increase in crime by youngers below the age of 18. Many opine that it is solely the outcome of bad parenting and that parents need be taught better parenting skills. But, I do not totally blame them for it.

We live in a time and place where society plays a major role in moulding an individual. Societal pressures have both positive and negative impact on the younger generations as they tend to take in everything like a sponge. Today’s generation is exposed to a variety of digital devices through which they can watch or share anything according to their whims and fancies. Even today’s entertainment industry has become nonchalant in screening the content they broadcast and label them as ‘U’. Genres like horror, sci-fi etc now show scenes of cold blooded murder, rape and other crimes and are considered as just another snippet in the movie. News broadcasting channels are no better as they show disturbing content including videos, pictures, controversial interviews that disturb the young minds and make them ruthless.

Some detractors may opine that parents have the sole control over their children and that better parenting skills would make them better children. Parents can influence the children to a certain extend and can imbibe good value system to the youngster, but other influences like friends, bad company, society, digital media also play a vital role in creating pivotal changes to the youngster’s mindset.

In conclusion, I do not agree to the idea that teaching parenting skills to parents are the only way to reduce crime rate of young offenders. However, it can be one of the steps towards achieving the goal to creating a better thought process in our younger generation.

In Spite Of The Advances Made In Agriculture, Many People Still Go Hungry

Over the last few decades, it has become more common for countries to improve in the agriculture industry, however, some people are still starving. There are many causes for this problem and this essay will explore them, as well as propose some solutions.

One of the major cause of this problem is the climate change. Global warming is one of the most pressing issues nowadays, and agriculture has been directly affected by it, since not only planting but also harvesting depend on optimal weather condition. According to a research conducted by the University of Harvard, 20% of crops around the world have died due to the fact that the temperature of the planet has increased in only 1°C. Furthermore, despite the advances in the field of genetically modified food, people are reluctant to accept it, resulting in the lost of even more food that could be resistant to this new temperature.

One solution is for the government to allocate more resources in order to create controlled environments for agriculture. This will allow to protect the crops against external threats, so neither the temperature, nor pest may damage the food. In addition, the government can also launch a publicity campaign, which will educate people about the benefits of genetically modified food. Take Japan as an example, since they start educating people about this cutting/edge technology, the hungry rate decreased by 52%, which means that the more educated the people, the more likely is a nation to survive.

To sum up, there are multiple causes of starvation around the world such as the climate change and the fear of people when new technology comes. If the government does not take serious actions such as to invest in more agriculture techniques and education for its inhabitants, the problem will worsen. From my point of view, I think that the government plays an important role in the solution.

Yes, juvenile crimes are increasing due to addiction to devices, lack of money and in some cases they revolt in such sense that they are not getting the love and attention of their parents. Sometimes, crimes are committed when one has so much of money that they get into illegal practices.
Parents can be trained in such a way as to decrease the addiction to devices by allowing them to play in parks or even playing with them. They can educate the kids on the pros and cons of devices, similar to the knife. You can use it to cut vegetables as well as make a wound in a body or kill somebody. So as parents we need to educate kids that technology is good and use it in the right sense. Then we are living in a better world.
When you get addicted to devices or see some of your friends toying with such expensive things children would like to own it. The best practice a parent can do in this to let the child come and speak to you about his needs and say that he could earn it by doing little work at home by helping his parents. Parents should encourage earning habits by letting the children earn their desires. You could help them by teaching that hard work is the key to success. If you work hard nothing is impossible in this world. Encourage children to be constructive. Educate him that construction requires lot of hard work and patience whereas destruction will just take a second.
As parents, you could check with your kids to know if they are getting your love and attention and not your money alone. Ensure always at least to spend quality time talking to your child daily as well as giving him more attention on the holidays. So, your child will wait for the holiday to discuss his wants and desires if you are just too busy. If you are giving money to your child ensure that he is using it for good purposes. Teach them the value of money. Teach them how hard it is to earn money. Develop saving habit in them. You can even open a bank account in his name where he is encouraged to save money earned by him and to use it with your permission for his wants. Once they understand the value of money, they would respect it and use it wisely.
The other is the use of drugs. Teach them not to receive anything from strangers even if their friends tell them to do so. You could always enquire whereabouts about his friends. Encourage your child to come to you for help if ever they had committed any mistake or even a crime, so that you can stop further problems.
I would suggest that child crimes can be reduced to 90% by training parents. The other 10% happens even if the child is with parents who care them, they commit crime may be because of some mental conditions or habits. So, parents can be educated to reduce the crime in youngsters. They can be educated that there are things that you sometimes never noticed.
