The line graph below shows the consumption of 3 different types of fast food in Britain from 1970 to 1990. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given graph gives information regarding the average quantity of three different fast foods – hamburger, fish & chips and pizza – consumed by Brits from 1970 to 1990. Overall, it can be seen that the consumption of fish and chips and hamburgers increased considerably during the given period whereas the consumption of pizza declined. Whereas pizza had a downward trend in comparison to the other two. Another noticeable change that can be seen is that the Brits consumed around 410 grams of fast food in 1970; however, it increased to around 1000 grams in 1990. The consumption of pizza was highest in 1970 at 300 grams; however, it started declining from around 1972 to 1985 where it reached 200 grams. From 1985 to around 1987 the intake of pizza was stable at 200 grams and it rose slightly to 201 grams in 1990. Around 90 grams of fish & chips were consumed in 1970, and the intake kept on increasing to around 170 grams in 1980, and from there on its popularity rose enormously as its consumption was 500 grams in 1990. Similarly, only 5 grams of fish and chips was consumed in 1970. Nevertheless, it increased from there on and it showed a sharp increase from 1985 to 1990 were it reached to around 300 grams.
