Some people opine that the most pronounced issue that the humankind is facing today is the persistent rise in population and in my opinion it is true. Numerous factors can be attributed to the surge in population, including unavailability of required medical facilities and unawareness among people.

The continuously growing population is a matter of grave concern encountered by several nations and more remarkably the ones belonging to relatively lower socioeconomic strata. This is because birth control, to a great extent, depends upon the access of citizens to medical facilities like family planning clinics. The communities deprived of such services tend to be unaware of contraceptive methods. Although in some parts of countries the facilities have been made available, individuals lack awareness. Unless they are guided properly they will not understand the benefits of using birth control.

The consequences of the growing population have made it evident that it is the biggest problem that we are facing. In order to accommodate the needs of the growing populace, we have to over exploit natural resources and this leads to scarcity of water, electricity etc. Unemployment is another dreadful outcome making overpopulation a notably significant issue.

The inadequacy of health care and the failure of social services to reach out to the people are the main grounds responsible for overgrowth of population and its aftereffects. Making people aware of the existing facilities and promoting the small family concept are the best possible ways to counter this situation.
