The bar graph illustrates the total number of gold, silver and bronze medals achieved by 12 different countries. Overall, it is clear from the chart that  USA is on the lead on the medals chart by a considerable amount in comparison to all the other eleven countries. On the other hand, Japan and China won the least number of medals. USA has won the highest number of medals in all three categories of gold, silver and bronze bagging a total of 2250 medals which is more than double the number of medals that Soviet Union, second on the medals chart,  has been awarded. The countries that won between 500 and 1000 medals were Soviet Union, UK, France, Germany and Italy. In this medal count category, Soviet Union won the maximum number recording a total of 1000 medals while Italy and Germany received the fewest amount of about 500 medals each. Finally, the remaining 6 countries, Sweden, Australia, Hungary, East Germany, Japan and China earned less than 500 medals each, with Sweden and Hungary  in the front achieving about 450 medals each whereas Japan and China secured the lowest amount of about 400 medals each.
