The table illustrates the percentage of monthly income spend by average families of 5 countries on four different items, namely, food and drink, housing, clothing, and entertainment. Overall, it can be seen that people spend the most on housing and food and drink and the least on clothing and entertainment. To begin with, while Turkey and Spain spend the most on housing (36% and 31% respectively), their spending on housing is considerably low at 20% and 18% respectively. The average families in the UK spend the most on housing. At 37%, their spending on this area is higher than what Germany (33%) and France (31%) spend on this. At the same time, German families spend considerably more on entertainment (19%) and clothing (15%) than families in other countries. Additionally, as far as clothing is concerned, the French and the Spanish spend the least on this, while these citizens of these two nations showed more interest in entertainment, with the former spending 13% on it and the latter spending 15%. Also, Turkish people spend just 10% of their income on entertainment, lower than any other given country in the table.
