While some people believe that creative and independent candidates should be preferred by employers, others argue that they should hire people who are team players and can follow the guidelines. This essay will discuss both the above-mentioned views and will also prove why the nature of the task involved should determine who the right candidate is.
Hiring candidates who are innovative and can work independently leads to the optimum utilization of resources. These types of people do not depend on others for help and motivation. They are self-sufficient to perform the given task. For example, they can build a website or an app without the help of his/her co-workers. So, the employer can make the best use of their skills.
However, some people feel that candidates who are good team-players and can follow the instructions will give more benefits to the organisation. According to them, working as a team brings the scope of different inputs and collective decision-making. Brain-storming on different ideas results in the selection of the best and improved idea. This discussion is generally done under some unified instructions which help employees to be on one track. For example, creating an advertisement theme requires a team with different inputs of ideas, discussions and collective effort working under the guidelines given by the client. So, people who can perform well in a team and can follow guidelines are advantageous for employers.
In my opinion, the type of candidate to be recruited depends on the nature of the work. If the work is more technical and does not require brain-storming on many ideas then it is best to hire people who are innovative and self-sufficient. On the other hand, team players and instruction followers are required for the task which requires the influx of different ideas, discussions and collective efforts. For instance, designing a costume can be done by one person whereas designing an airport requires a big team.
In conclusion, this essay discussed both the contrasting views regarding the consideration of an independent candidate or a team player and it agreed that for maximum utilisation of resources and quality work delivery, employers should hire candidates based on the work requirements.

Although some people believe that companies should hire creative and self-reliant people, others strongly argue that team players and good listeners should be employed by recruiters. In my opinion, companies should hire both types of talents because an organisation can achieve success only if they have both innovative brains and team players.
On the one hand, according to some people, recruiters should only consider applicants creative skills and the ability to work by themselves. The primary reason for this is that innovative / creative / ingenious employees have the potential to come up with innovative ideas that benefit the company. As a result, they will play a significant role in the success of a company. Furthermore, many organisations have only limited resources to train newly hired staff. Because independent people can learn on their own, they can start working for the company on an early basis. For these reasons, jobs in companies should be filled with extremely talented and independent people.
On the other hand, those who think that companies should go for people who are capable of working in a team and supporting others’ opinions, give the following reasons. Firstly, even if an employee is innovative, they should still have the team playing ability which is essential for a company’s growth. It is quite true that employers always give priority to the applicants who are experts in both skills. Secondly, most companies have multiple departments, which can only be operated relatively stably, if their employees are working in a team and considering each other’s opinions.
To conclude, while people debate on various types of aspects to evaluate at the time of hiring employees, I believe that innovative ideas, team playing skills, and the ability to cooperate /collaborate are the important factors that should be considered by recruiters when employing people.

The recruitment of employees is an indispensable part of businesses. People have differing views with regard to the question which skills a company should look in candidates while interviewing them. In my opinion, the employees having creative thinking and ability to work in a team certainly benefit businesses.
On the one hand, the employees who are creative and can work alone have significant potentials to find a quick and easy solution in a very short time to solve out the problem which given to them. As a result, employers eliminate the costs involved in hiring a team to work on a single project. Moreover, having workers who work independently result in less communication among teammates which save a lot of time. This time could be used in doing other important tasks such as preparing reports, testing. But workers having such skills are not useful for several industries which require team efforts such as space research, automobile.
Gone are those days when an employee could finish a task alone. Nowadays, due to competition, work has become complicated therefore, team efforts are required. Therefore, industries should consider employees who have abilities to work in a team and under supervision. For example, it is convenient for a development team to create a software by dividing its modules among team members equally rather than assigning whole to one developer. Hence, it is evident that employees must have team spirit and ability to work under pressure.
In conclusion, In my opinion, employers should give priority to candidates who are innovative and co-operative skills since they can find a reliable solution to problems very easily and tendency to work with colleagues.
