Science plays pivotal role in our today’s world; it becomes an integral part of our day-to-day life. While some claim that students should solely be educated science lessons in educational institutions, others believe the rest of disciplines are also vital for them. I partially agree with this statement. In this essay I will outline reasons and give some relevant examples.
On the one hand, it is true that science is the main contributing factor to improve our living standard in great extent. By studying it, students can become open-minded and creative, they are more likely to achieve their potential and contribute to some breakthrough research. The result of it may affects our daily lives. For example, Stephen Jobs invested iPhone, which revolutionized our means of communication, therefore, a growing number of people started to use their mobile phone. Consequently, we can use mobile phone to do various things, which uplift our quality of lives.
On the other hand, other disciplines including, arts, physical education and history are beneficial to students as well. Firstly, embracing arts boosts their creativity and imagination, without those significant characteristics, they will lack competitive edge in the workplaces. Secondly, physical education provides students an opportunity that helps them keep fit when they have to bear heavy academic burden. For example, they can unwind by taking part in sports and enjoy the quality time with their friends, which will boost the productivity of studying. Finally, by learning history, students may obtain critical thinking and learn from the past and resist the issues when they meet them in the future.
In conclusion, although science is one of the most important elements that affects our world, other curriculums may also fulfill our campus life and have lifelong benefits.
