Many individuals do not take sports seriously. They believe that engaging in sports is good for personal amusement. Playing a sport is fun. It is something both children and adults want to do in their free time. Watching sports is also a leisure activity. Most people enjoy it. So, obviously, sports has some value as a leisure activity. Even those people who do not actually play a sport may watch sports matches on television. If they can afford it, they might even go a stadium to watch these events in person. For a lot of people, supporting their national team is a way of expressing their patriotic feelings.

On the other hand, sports is much more than a leisure activity. It has serious benefits for health. Societies where people enjoy playing sports are healthier. Sports is a career for many people.
