Some people believe that it is the responsibility of parents to make children useful members of the society. Others, however, insist that school is the place for children to learn lessons and skills that will make them useful to their community. In my opinion, both parents and schools have important roles to play in molding children into responsible and useful adults.
Parents are the first teachers of their children. During the first 2-3 years of their life, parents and other close family members are the only contacts children have. It is important for parents to inculcate in them values such as kindness, empathy and selflessness during this time itself. Children learn a lot from how parents behave in various situations. So, for example, a parent who treats their subordinates or servants kindly is sending their children the message that everybody deserves respect and kindness. On the other hand, a parent who abuses their servants or acts dishonestly cannot raise a righteous child. When they grow up, children will imitate the exact same behavior and become a bane for the society.
The role of teachers in shaping the character of children is equally important. Once they start going to school, children spend much of their day time under the care and guidance of their teachers. Just like parents, children are easily influenced by their teachers. For this reason, teachers too should be careful about what lessons they are giving. A teacher who shows absolutely no partiality in the class and does their job with utmost sincerity is teaching children the importance of upholding equality, fairness and honesty in all dealings. Teachers are also better at disciplining children and inculcating in them a respect for authority.
In conclusion, parents and teachers are the biggest influence on children during their formative years. Hence, both of them have important roles to play in shaping the character of students and helping them grow into socially responsible and useful adults.

According to some people, parents should teach their children how to become a good member of our society, while others assert that school is the place to learn all these traits. In my opinion, it is the responsibility of both school and family members. This essay will discuss both sides and elucidate my viewpoint.
To begin with, parents are the first teachers of their children. It is their responsibility to teach their children values such as honesty, empathy, kindness and respect. Besides this, an impressionable mind of a child emulates their parents’ actions and behaviour very quickly. They learn what they watch their parents are doing. For instance, I always help poor people by giving them food and clothes. Now watching me / seeing me, my daughter has also started giving her old toys to poor children; hence, it proves that parents can teach their children good qualities to become a useful part of our society.
On the other hand, schools are the second home of children where they spend substantial time with their peers of different culture and background. It makes them tolerant of differences which is an important quality to become a good member of our community. On top of this, nowadays, many parents do not spend much time with their children because of their jobs. For all those children the school serves as a boon by teaching them good manners.
In conclusion, both parents and teachers have an important role in teaching children values and manners. It is not possible to say whether one has a greater responsibility than the other.

Some people believe that the responsibility for making children useful to the society rests on the parents. Others believe that children should learn these lessons from school. The following paragraphs would discuss both views before making a final statement.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why it is the parents’ duty to educate them. First of all, children spend a significant amount of time at home, so by observing their parents’ behaviour, they are learning crucial lessons. For example, if elders donate money to the Charity fund, it indirectly influences young ones to serve the community. Moreover, kids pay heed to whatever their parents say; if they advise children to obey society’s rules and regulations, this will not only help them to become good citizens but also responsible people. Therefore, parents play a crucial role in the upbringing of a child.
On the other hand, some claim that teachers are better suited to impart this knowledge. As many parents raise the child with excessive love, they are often not very good at disciplining them. Teachers can do this job much better. At school, children will learn to respect authority. They will learn to abide by rules and regulations. They will also learn to interact with other students and elders coming from different backgrounds. Such interactions improve their social skills. So, the school also plays an important role in shaping children into useful adults.
To conclude, although home is the first place for a kid to learn, the role of schools and teachers in shaping the character of students cannot be undermined. In my opinion, not only parents but teachers also must instruct them how to be good members of society.
