People are bound to have differing views on what constitutes an enjoyable hobby. A few people opine that strenuous pastime activities are more pleasurable. I vehemently disagree with this point of view, as most people only want to relax in their leisure time and easy hobbies suit them better. I shall elaborate on these views and discuss a few other aspects of this topic in the forthcoming paragraphs.
My views are strengthened by a few experiences in my personal life. For instance, after a long and tiring day at work, I usually find myself watching movies, listening to music, or reading my favorite books. Although these tasks require no effort whatsoever, they still provide me with utmost joy and relaxation. Other hobbies like playing board games, cooking, gardening or dancing also do not require a lot of effort. Still, they make people happy and relaxed.
In deep contrast to the views expressed above, some people are of the opinion that the more difficult a pursuit is, the more fulfilment it gives. They believe that effortless hobbies are boring as they do not offer any thrill. Activities like skydiving, climbing hills, feeding sharks, and so on get their adrenaline pumping. However, not everyone likes such adventurous activities because people have different preferences. For someone who just wants to relax in their leisure time, the mere thought of engaging in an activity like hiking or paragliding can be repulsive.
To conclude, different people like different hobbies and it is not possible to say that difficult hobbies are more enjoyable than hobbies that do not require much effort. It all depends on the personal preferences, energy levels and risk appetite of the person.
