Scientific inventions have fascinated the human beings. While some people believe that new inventions / innovations cause more problems, others disagree. In their opinion, these innovations have helped the mankind. I agree with the latter view. This essay will discuss how the advantages in medical sciences and enhanced communication have helped the humans.

The first and foremost advantage is the innovation of medicine. Vaccinations have helped not only the humans, but also the animals. Now people do not die of any preventable disease. Gone are the days when people died from a simple fever or epidemic like plague. There are medicines available. To illustrate, in last five decades, the life expectancy has increased from 51 years to 67 years in India. Therefore, it is incontrovertible that these modern inventions have helped mankind.

Secondly, the interaction among people has risen significantly. Human beings are social animals. People need to be social and communicate with each other. Mobile communication and internet have helped to take it to the next level and set new benchmarks for communications. People can use text, audio or video to socialise. Children can talk to parents while they are travelling. People can find and talk to their friends irrespective of time and location. For example, online networks like Facebook and Whatsapp have given people a platform to interact.

There is no denying that the new researches have some hazardous by-products like nuclear bombs and other arms and ammunition. Also, overuse of mobile is harmful for the children. However, these are controllable issues. For these reasons, the development should not be clogged.

In conclusion, new innovations have benefited the human beings with enhanced medical sciences and developed social networks. There are some problems associated with new researches. Humans should use their wisdom to reduce the disadvantages and enhance the advantages for mankind.

Undoubtedly, society is divided into two groups as per the distinct mindset of different people. Therefore, this has become a debatable issue whether advent of technology in all fields developed more issues or benefited human beings to improve their lifestyles. This essay will not only shed light on both perceptions but also my point of view will be elaborated in conclusion.
To commence with the first notion, there are myriad of things to be shared in its favor. First of all, modern technology made a huge impact to develop modern equipment to find out the disease which could have happen in future as well as there is plethora of benefits in preventive and curative medicines such as vaccine for polio and insulin for diabetic patients. Secondly, implementation of technology in agricultural cultivation is another benefit of modern world, to exemplify, seedless fruits and vegetables are harvested in uncountable quantities by western countries using of modern innovations.
Moving towards the second argument of this debate, the first point of this issue is that al most innovations found by the scientist are using against the nature by individuals hence it destroys the eco system which badly affect the survival of other habitat. For instance, there is huge decrease in elephants due to the extinction of forest and people are killing them for tusk to make the product for their entertainment. Apart from this, extraordinary changes in climate ever seen in lifetime due to the high emissions from automotive innovation.
According to my perspective, if people will move forward in this way human being will be eradicated from this earth due to modern innovations so we should go back to ancient days, live with nature, yet it is very hard to adjust because of lifestyle change.

In some parts of the word it is becoming popular to research the history of one’s own family.
Why might people want to do this?
Is it a positive or negative development?

In some countries now there is a trend of finding the family pedigree. I believe going through family history is a positive attitude and this essay will explain why people do research of their own family history.
One of the main reasons is to find out where they are coming from. Most of people are not live in where their grandparents born and they adapt to the culture where they live. So when they search for their history they can study culture and believe of their origin. Secondly people can study about legends in their blood line it will bell be a positive approach to their life. For example Genaral Kobbekaduwa in Sri lankan army is one of relative of Monarawilla Keppetipola who served for King Sri Wikrama Rajasinghe in 1800 who fought against English army.

To network among the own family members and to be more powerful in the society. The surname ( Ge name) is one of the key identity the family has As example Bandaranaka, Weijewardanaand Rajapaksha families have dominated in Srilankan polical history. On the other hand in Sri Lanka there are some families who arrange family get-togethers annually, for that some members are coming from different parts of the world. The wealthy members of the family are helping for the people who need support for education business and also who need special medical treatments so on. As well as the members who live abroad have benefits of getting know to the culture and tradition of the orgin family.
In conclusion researching of own family history is a positive approach to the society and it will lead to a better future in the word.

The development of tourism contributed to English to become the most prominent language in the word. Some people think this will lead to English becoming the only language to be spoken globally.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to having one language in the world?

Some of the people think English will be the only language that will speak in the future world, because of the vast increase of the tourism. This assay will be discussed the both advantages and disadvantages of having one common language in the world.
Tourists and the people who are engaged in tourism will be more comfortable when entire world is speaking in English because it is easy for them to communicate. For example any tourist can find the places where they want to visit. The tourist guides can explain well about historic places and about their local culture to foreigners.
For students and professionals who are going for other countries for higher education and professions will be much easier if one global language is there then they don’t want to spend time and money to study the local language. And also there will be definite advantage for business and political engagements because it is more comfortable for documentation, means no need for translation and both parties can easily communicate their decisions. As example when organizing trade fairs and other global summits like common wealth, United Nation, SAARC, it will be more convenient to share ideas each other.
On the other hand if English become only language in the word all other languages will be die it will lead to some of serious problems because all the culture of different communities mainly depend on the language, especially music, drama and film industries as well as the religion most of books where published on local languages. One of the main identities of the nation is their mother language, for instant most of leaders’ address world summits in their mother language even they are fluent in English that because to show the gratitude for the mother nation.
And also if entire word is going to speak only on English there is no any differentiation in various parts of the word
In conclusion that is understood there are both advantages and disadvantages of English becoming the only language because of tourism.

Completing university education is though some to be the best way to get a good job. On the other hand other people think that getting experience and developing soft skills is more important.
Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

It is considered by some that being a university graduate is the key to securing a good job, while there are others who think that is better to have experience and soft skills. In my opinion, I believe having university education is essential for academic jobs, and to for jobs in business sector the experience and soft skill is more useful
On the one hand, many think it is easier for most of people to find a good job if they are university graduates with a good degree in other word, having tertiary education is put people one step ahead who do not and this can be the deciding factor in getting a good a good job. The competition to get into universities and the increasing number of graduates, show just how significant this level of education is for students future work opportunities.
On the other hand, having work experience and soft skills can also throw in balance in favour of the applicant, according to some. For many positions there are an over helming numbers of applicant and therefore, it is often thought that having relevant experience in that line of work or having acquired useful soft skills that can be valuable to a company, can put one ahead of the game when appliying for a position.
Finally, in my opinion. Wethere needing high level education or skills and experience , depends on the position been applied for. Take for example law, medicine or teaching, it is impossible to be considered for a position without the educational background. In contrast, in business it would be more important for candidate to have soft skills and experience in that line of business so they can step into a position without futuher training and be of immediate benefit to the company.
In conclusion getting a good job requires a relevant background either in experience or education depending on the type of work and field. People should make sure they attain a necessary skills or dgree before applying for a job in order to be sure of success.

Nowadays, more people are choosing to socialize on line rather than face to face. Is this a positive or negative development?

Social media platforms are getting more popular among the more than interaction between people face to face. There are both positive and negative impact because of increased use of internet.
On the one side through social media such as face book people can connect with a individual or with a group with a click of button. However, the identity of the other party is unknown can be a stranger, Some times they will never meet each other but will carry on relationship only through internet. On the other hand, positive part of the on line networking is the gathering of known groups. For example we have a whats up group amoung our schoolmates, the members were from allaround the world however we all share our old memories and new events through this group.

When people get-together physically it gives more blossom to the people it is more live. In the other hand having interaction on line is very artificial but more people will gather online platforms. Whereas, in face to face get together number of people will be less because of the distance and the time constraint to illustrate in our schoolmates group we have members around 250 however when organizing the annual get together average participants were less than 150 every year.
Most of youngsters are now having different type of gatherings on the social media especially on face book. They arrange secret parties where they consume illegal drugs, this is becoming a big problem to the society. Having said that, there are some good initiatives on face book too, pages like “ SAYOUBAGHYA”where they post and share information about home gardening, cooking which is help of betterment of the world.
In conclusion there are positive and negative impact of the use of networking through on line and people should all ways fallow the positive side.
