Several opinions exist regarding the choice of friends. While some opine that people who share same views make better friends, others do not believe in this assertion. The latter group thinks that friendship of people with different opinions is better. This essay discusses both these views before arriving at a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, friendship has always been considered as a relationship between two or more people who are compatible to be together. The basis of this compatibility is the similarity in opinions and perspectives. That means, it is indispensable to have understanding between friends, which will only be possible for people who have same wavelength. For instance, the situations of disputes are more likely to ruin friendships if people have entirely different views and opinions.
On the flip side, the existence of friendship is feasible even when people disagree on some matters. Everyone is different and unique in their own ways because of the environment wherein they are grown. That does not mean that those people can never be friends together. Moreover, the co-existence of people differs in views have several benefits as well such as since these people have different perspectives, they can put in their unique ideas for the resolution of a problem. Furthermore, varied ideas and thoughts help in attaining knowledge.
After analyzing both the views, even though the difference in ideas and perspectives between people have certain benefits, it is clear that the compatibility is the inevitable factor for an enduring friendship.
