It is argued by some that all people should adopt vegetarian diets as meat is virtually not important in our meals. I completely disagree with this point of view because it is neither justifiable nor scientific.
In my view, it is absurd to ask everyone to become vegetarians. In fact, such a proposal is strongly against the core value of a free and fair society where each individual is entitled to choose the way they eat and live. In this modern world, people should not be forced to adopt any particular lifestyle, no matter how healthy that might be, unless they make the decision by themselves. This freedom to decide on what food they should have is actually one of the important factors influencing the level of happiness for many people.
Apart from the human rights concern expressed above, the argument that people can live healthy without meat also does not hold water. It is scientifically proven that seafood, chicken and beef play a large part in ensuring people’s health. Different types of meat are rich in different nutrition, such as protein, chemicals, and calcium, and they provide what the human body needs and help it function well. Without the nutritional elements that we take from meat, we would be more prone to many health problems, from malnutrition to anemia. That is why WHO suggests that an average adult eat / should eat 50 grams of meat every day.
In conclusion, I believe that it is unreasonable and unhealthy to ask everyone not to consume meat since people should be free to choose their food and enjoy a balanced diet.

It is argued by certain individuals that all of us should be vegetarian as eating meat is not necessary for a healthy diet. I tend to disagree with the notion as this restriction would result in infringing human rights and would deprive people of much-needed nutrients.
In my opinion, it is the basic human right of every free person to decide what should be one’s menu for fulfilling one’s needs for nutrition. Therefore, it seems to be against the fundamental rights and justice to ask everyone to become vegetarian. People nowadays are well aware of their personal rights and restrictions of such nature not only distort the overall peace and harmony of society but could become a cause of injustice and anarchy which by no means beneficial for the entire country. There are certain countries of the world where slaughtering animals for food consumptions is prohibited and such regulations have according to many studies resulted in discontentment in millions of citizens.
Apart from the aforementioned facts, it is scientifically proven that consumption of meat is a prime source of proteins, fats and other essential nutrients that are considered vital for a healthy individual. Depriving a human being of these fundamental components of a balanced diet could lead to fatal diseases like malnutrition and osteoporosis. Meat in any form whether it be beef, chicken or fish is important for human consumption to stay healthy and fit. For the same reason, the United Nations Organization has considered a daily intake of at least a recommended quantity of meat for every person.
Summing up, it can be argued that the imposition of restriction on food items is a violation of human rights and can cause detrimental effects on the health of people. Therefore, in light of the stated arguments I completely disagree that everyone should be a vegetarian.
