While some people argue that kids should be allowed to make errors, others believe that parents should prevent children from making mistakes. In my opinion, teenagers should be allowed to make mistakes.
On the one hand, children should be allowed to make errors so that they can learn valuable life lessons. If they do not make mistakes, they will not learn much. They will stay in their comfort zone and may not grow up as a person. It is quite vital to experiment with new things and make mistakes. However, it is equally important to learn from such mistakes and rectify them. If there are no gains from the mistakes, it will be a futile effort. For instance, Thomas Edison, the inventor of electric bulb, made a thousand errors before his discovery. Therefore, it is pertinent to say that children should have the freedom to make mistakes.
On the other hand, some other people believe that parents should prevent children from making mistakes as sometimes these can prove fatal and cause death. Nowadays, teenagers are trying to imitate the action scenes from the movies. If they are allowed to perform such stunts by the parents, it could even cause their death For instance, as per a report published in the Hindu newspaper, a child died after performing a bike stunt last year. He was inspired by stunt scenes in the movie ‘Fast and Furious’. Hence, parents should not allow children to make mistakes that hurt themselves or others. There is no harm in making minor mistakes that help them learn.
Personally, I do not believe that children should be allowed to make a lot of mistakes. Of course, there is no harm in choosing a wrong hobby or a shirt that does not suit you. But there is no justification for allowing them to make mistakes like picking up bad habits and wasting their time playing games all the time. Such mistakes will prove costly in the long term. So, children can make minor mistakes, but they should never be allowed to make serious mistakes.
To conclude, children should certainly be allowed to make mistakes that enable them to learn and grow. However, parents need to ensure that these mistakes never cause irreversible damage to their children.
