Some people choose not to leave their native place for work or studies. They spend their entire life in the place where they were born. One of the main reasons for this practice is their desire to live in their comfort zone. It certainly makes their life more comfortable but at the same time it limits their growth prospects.

Some people have no risk appetite. They do not want to get out of their comfort zone. Hence, they choose to live in their birthplace. There are also some people who do not have the opportunity to leave their native place. They may have old parents to take care of. Or they may have a family business or farm that binds them to their birthplace. There are also some people who simply do not want to get out of their comfort zone. They want to live in the vicinity of their friends and relatives and hence they do not leave.

The main advantage of living in one’s place of birth is that it makes life more comfortable. We are familiar with nearly everyone in our neighborhood and we can count on their support when we need it. We have friends to spend time with and family to take care of our needs. When people live in their native place, they often have a family home built by their parents. Consequently, they do not have to buy or build a home. They may also have family property that provides a source of income. In short, life is less stressful when we choose to live in our neighborhood.

On the down side, when people refuse to leave their birthplace, they have limited opportunities for growth. They may have better jobs or living standards waiting for them elsewhere but they fail to grab them. Also, when people spend their entire lives in one place, they have little knowledge of the world outside. This narrows their perspective and makes their life less interesting.

To conclude, some people refuse to leave their birthplace because of their emotional attachment to it and also because of their fear of leaving their comfort zone. The main advantage of this practice is that it makes life less stressful. At the same time, it also hurts their opportunities for growth.

The trend of immigrating and settling in an entirely different country is increasing nowadays. However, the majority of the population still spends their whole life in their native place or close to it. Reasons for this attitude among the people and its pros and cons will be discussed further in this essay.

Firstly, being in a familiar place creates a sense of safety and security. Since people and places are known to them, they get to live in a comfort zone from which they do not want to move out. Secondly, one gets to enjoy the advantage of living near parents and friends. This can help in all the phases of life. For example, whether it is finding the first job or buying a house, it is far easier when one has enough connections. These are the reasons that keep people in their own country, state or city.

Although living in or close to the native place has many perks, there are some disadvantages to it. People living in a familiar environment do not get real time exposure of world. This can limit their growth. Also, oftentimes, there are very few job opportunities in these places. This is especially true for those living in villages. If these people decide to live in that village for their whole life, they will most probably have to choose farming as their means of livelihood. This may not suit educated young people who have greater aspirations in life. Thus, obviously, staying in one’s native place can hurt one’s personal and professional growth. On the other hand, being in a strange and different place challenges one emotionally as well as financially and ultimately helps the individual to grow independently.

To conclude, the home environment safeguards the individual and makes their lives less stressful. However, starting from scratch and managing things independently in a distinct place is difficult in the beginning but rewarding in the end.

Some individuals prefer to reside in their hometown. I believe that emotional attachment to the place and the amicable relationship with those in the neighborhood are the primary reasons for this preference and it makes their life peaceful.  However, if people are living in rural areas, then the required resources might not be available to them.

Humans have a natural attachment to the place they were born in. This prevents many of them from leaving for greener pastures. They do not want to leave the place where they spent their childhood with their parents and extended family. Moreover, it becomes hard for a person to move to an unfamiliar place with no one known to them and they cannot cope with that situation.

On the one hand, the main benefit of living around the people and place you have known for years is that it brings a sense of trust and bonding. Therefore, in worst times those people can hold our hands and help us out and this knowledge / awareness gives serenity to our mind. On the other hand, people who choose to live in rural areas could be at a disadvantage because adequate healthcare or educational facilities are not available there. Also, good career opportunities are not always available in one’s native place. So, if people choose not to leave their birthplace, they may have fewer career opportunities.

To conclude, some people like to live close to the place where they spent their childhood because of the love and fun they had at that place, and living near their loved ones and in the same old house makes their life joyful. However, this preference often limits their opportunities for personal and career growth.
