Band 7.5 IELTS essay sample
Governments are supposed to spend their resources responsibly in order to provide maximum benefits to their citizens. Some experts opine that authorities should spend more on health and education instead of building cinema halls and stadiums. I agree with this view to a great extent. While sports and arts are essential parts of human lives, I believe that the current times demand more investment in education and health sector.
Most of the countries are already spending considerable amount of money on health and studies. Yet it is not sufficient to deal with the emerging issues. Firstly, the literacy ratio in developing countries is still dismal and it is one of the root causes of high unemployment rate and crime rate in these nations. So, these governments should open schools and universities in remote areas to give easy access to education to the unprivileged students. Furthermore, the appointed teachers and professors should be given additional training on a regular basis so that standard of education can be maintained and quality education can be delivered to the students.
Secondly, the medical field also needs more investment. For instance, the covid pandemic proved that medical resources present worldwide are not enough to fulfill the demands. To deal with this, more health care centers should be established so that every citizen can avail of optimum health care facilities without much hassle / difficulty. Additionally, all the hospitals should be funded to bring latest technological devices and even the strength / number of hospital staff should be increased if needed so that the burden on existing medical and paramedical staff can be reduced. All these improvements together can prepare the health care system to tackle any sudden outburst of disease.
To conclude, every nation should judiciously utilise their finance according to the requirement of the citizens. Although building sports stadiums and cinema halls should not be considered wasteful as they play a key role in entertaining people, I believe that the government should give more emphasis and thus spent more money on improving education and health sectors.
