In today’s world, advertising has transformed the way goods and services are sold in the global markets. Any product has the capability to become an overnight sensation, if it is marketed well. This essay will discuss why advertisements play a pivotal role in improving lives by informing people of the essential products available in the market.

Some people believe that advertisements create needs in the minds of the consumers and provoke them to purchase these products. However, it is true that a need is created but it is also worth noting that advertisements only inform people about the availability of the products and there is no brainwashing involved. For example, dishwashers are installed in all households; however, some people still prefer to clean dishes using their hands. Evidently, advertisements about dishwashers only inform customers about their benefits; the decision to buy or not to buy lies with the consumer.

People often blame advertisements for increasing household expenses by promoting unnecessary purchasing amongst buyers. It is important to understand the post-purchase benefits and then weigh them against the cost of these products. For example, the sales of solar portable chargers increased by 30% in 2019, after their viral advertisement went online depicting their advantages. Although these chargers were more expensive than their electrical counterparts, they made it possible to charge the phone on the go and hence were preferred by consumers.

In a nut-shell, this essay discussed the importance of advertisements in transforming lives by informing people of the new products in the market that can make their lives less stressful. It is important that people who believe that advertisements are a sham, move ahead with time and improve their lives by benefitting from these advertised products.

    Advertisements plays an integral part in our buying habits, owing to which some hold the view that oftentimes companies advertise unuseful products while others states that commercialization is essential getting updates about market trends. In this essay, I will discuss the latter view with examples.

    To start, for an industry, promotion is the only route to reach their target customers, as a result of which we get to know about the upgraded and newer versions of various categories of products. For example, smartphones ad campaigns can prove to be quite useful for an individual searching for the best model as per his needs. Hence, visual promotional techniques are the un-comparable sources to search the best-fit items for our daily requirements.

    In addition, ads not only tell audience about the features of a commodity but also instruct is to use it effectively. Let us consider the example of a dishwasher, only with the help of a visual aid a user can know the basics of placing utensils and adding washing powder in it. So, advertisements are the most effective methods to aware the end user about the functions and working of a product, which is being advertised. Of companies do now follow publication to endorse their own end products, we may have to rely on other unreliable sources such as word of mouth.

    In conclusion, it is crystal clear that endorsements of produced good by manufacturing forms are proving to be considerably useful while the decision process of buying various things for our personal as well as professional life.

    With the advent of the internet we have a plethora of information at our hand. In particular advertisements, that encourages us to buy new products to improve our lives. While some of the products do impact our lives in positive ways, however, the majority of them are things that we do not need.

    Advertisements often tend to portray products in a more flashy manner than they actually are. Products that are over hyped, either by a celebrity endorsing or by creative photography, are found to be more attractive from a consumer’s perspective because that way the product directly relates to the consumer in a more personal way. For example, a popular fast food chain recently started selling a regular meal by renaming it with a famous actor’s name. This resulted in a record high sales. This clearly shows that flashy advertisements lure customers in buying things that they would not otherwise buy.

    In addition to this, the rise in the global average household income is another reason why people tend to buy things that they do not really need. As job salaries are increasing, people have more liquid cash at their disposal. This naturally makes people less wise about their money and in pursuit of a flash lifestyle they spend money on unnecessary things. I personally own three keyboards because I desperately wanted to be a member of my college’s elite coding club. It is now that I realize how stupid of an idea it was to buy three keyboards when I needed only one.

    I believe flashy advertisements combined with the high rise in household income are the two main reasons responsible for making people buy things that we do not really need.
