Advertisements have grown in importance for all manufacturers especially over the last decade. While some people believe that advertising persuades buyers to engage in unnecessary purchases, others tend to assume they are prominent in raising awareness of the latest products ands services. I firmly believe that advertisements notify us about the latest inventions to ease our day-to-day activities.

On the one hand, excessive advertising may lead to meaningless purchases sometimes. This is because of the fact that major fast-food chains and toy industries use these adverts to attract children who are gullible. For example, McDonald’s, a popular fast-food chain sells kids meals with toys and this entices them to buy these high-priced unhealthy meals time and again. Children will not be aware of these surprise toys without the help of such advertising campaigns they run on different sales channels like TV, Radio and the internet. Due to these highly targeted marketing tricks of the multi-national companies, parents often buy these meals to keep their younger ones happy.

On the other hand, adverts inform us of the latest gadgets and technology which enhance our productivity and make our lives more comfortable. If the engineers and manufacturers fail to market their products to the public, we will never learn about these products which can make our life easier. For instance, working couple can save the time they spend on cleaning their homes and washing their clothes with the help of a vacuum cleaner and a washing machine respectively. Both of these are brilliant modern-day inventions aimed at making domestic chores easier for working people.

Advertisements not only help people to identify the products they need but also save time after they purchase them. They can allocate this time to more productive tasks like learning a new hobby, reading a book or even spending time with their children.

To conclude, although some people may feel that advertisements might force naive consumers to buy unnecessary / useless goods or services, I firmly believe that if there were no promotional campaigns people will miss out on some brilliant inventions which could ease their lives.
