In this contemporary era, different types of commercials play an important role in marketing. Many people believe that advertisement persuades us to buy unnecessary things while others think that advertising new products helps us in making our life easy. In this essay I would like to discuss the positive aspect of the advertisements in our day to day life.
Firstly, clothing and fashion industry usually announces offers through advertisements especially during the year end and festive seasons like Christmas and Diwali. People get to know about this by seeing ads in newspaper or by watching TV commercials. This not only helps us to find new stylish clothes but also helps in saving some money. A survey conducted by a well-known newspaper reported that the majority of Indians are very keen to watch advertisements about the offer sales.
Secondly, sometimes advertisements enable us to buy the suitable product for a person. For example, there are various smartphone brands in the market and it is a difficult task to pick the apt one because different people have different preferences. While some people want a good camera phone, others look for battery capacity. Therefore, commercials help them to understand each product’s specifications easily and it becomes easy for them to select the most appropriate products.
To sum up, it is clear that advertisement helps human in many ways to improve their life. In my personal opinion even though commercials have some negative effects, they are an inevitable part of the modern world.

With the onset of mass media like the newspapers, television and the internet, advertisements have become a major part of our lives. However, public opinion has been divided on the question of the purpose of advertisements with some saying that adverts help people to know about the new products in the market and others argue that advertisements make people buy products that they might not have needed. I strongly believe that advertisements introduce the latest products in the market to the people making their lives better.
Firstly, technology is advancing at a pace never seen before. With hundreds of companies competing in a vast market, people now have an option to choose from a wide variety of products. This can at times be confusing for the public as they might be overwhelmed by the varied options available to them. Advertisements help to overcome this problem by allowing companies to showcase their offerings in an attractive manner. With the help of adverts they can compare the features of various products and choose one that meets their requirements.
On the other hand, adverts also encourage impulsive buying. Some people just cannot resist the lure of advertisements and they end up buying even those products they do not really need. However, in my opinion, we cannot really blame commercials for this. People especially adults need to act responsibly. They should be able to decide what they need and do not need. They should not feel compelled to buy just because they see adverts all around.
In conclusion, advertisements are certainly helpful to customers. They get to make an informed choice and buy products that match their requirements at an affordable price. However, there are also some people who end up buying things under the influence of advertisements. In my opinion, however, it is their fault and not the fault of ads.
