Some people understand the benefits of decluttering their house and keeping their office space neat and tidy. They also say it is essential to keep it organized. I believe tidying up saves time in finding things, soothes our mind and keeps us healthy.
Firstly, keeping things at their designated place helps to locate them easily. When you organize and keep things properly your mind does not have to rely too much on the memory to trace them. For example, once my friend had to look for his passport all over the house just because he didn’t keep it safe at a designated place. Also, in the office, organization techniques enable one to be more productive and be time effective. For example, I organize my emails in the inbox based on the person they came from and the project they are related to. I regularly shred the ones that are no longer required. All this allow me to find related stuff quite quickly.
Secondly, with the quantum of time we spend in our house and office it becomes very essential to keep them clean; otherwise we sometimes get anxious and depressed. Also, the dirt in the house may make kids unhealthy and they may fall sick, because of the virus and bacteria that originate from litter. For example, according to a study conducted by Cambridge University, 70% of the diseases originate from unhygienic conditions in the house.
To recapitulate I believe having a well-organized office and house makes us more productive and keeps our body and soul healthy and fit.
