If we look around, we can see that many people who were failures in school eventually become successful in life. In the same way, it is also possible for some people who performed really well at school to become failures in life. This is mainly because academic skills are not the only prerequisite for success in life. In most cases, hard work and perseverance are more important than good marks.

A person who is good at memorizing the lessons and scoring well in exams may not be good at analytical thinking. Someone who is not able to score well in exams due to factors like bad handwriting or exam fear may have strong leadership qualities that are required for succeeding in life.

Life is all about decision making, problem solving and leadership abilities. One should make the right decision at the right time. Such skills are not always learned in school and for this reason just because someone did well at school, it does not mean that they will be successful in life. In the same way, it is possible for people who did not do particularly well at school to learn important success skills from their experiences. I have a cousin who scored well in exams, but failed to create a positive impression among his circle due to which he couldn’t shine in his career. Luckily, he got an opportunity to realize his mistakes in the early stage of his career and correct them.

In short, success in school almost always depends on a person’s ability to memorize things whereas in real life, it depends on a person’s ability to work hard and persevere. Hence, it is quite possible for people who fail in school to achieve success in life if they are willing to strive hard.
