It is often seen that some children, despite doing poorly / badly at school, have succeeded in their life. I believe that this is due to the shortcomings of our education system and the phenomenal willpower of an individual. While education plays a pivotal role in shaping one’s life, I maintain that there are other factors vital to achieve success.
The education model of most of the countries is not compatible with the demands of the modern) society. Rather it is based on rote learning and more than a student’s IQ quotient, more emphasis is laid on their memorization capabilities. On the other hand, prosperity, wealth and fame are way beyond the realm of cramming and require practical knowledge, inner-instinct and incredible soft-skills to acquire them. Consequently, an individual, regardless of how badly they did in their academic career, is bound to be successful provided they possess the appropriate skills. For example, Edison was a failure at school; yet, he went on to become one of the most successful inventors of all times.
It is believed that those who graduated from the excellent universities having access to the state-of-art technology will eventually become achievers. However, success is not confined to the educational aspects only. In contrast, incessant dedication, undying determination and unshakable faith are the attributes which can show a person the path of victory, irrespective of his background, education and circumstances. If a person is ready to burn the midnight oil, success would come naturally to him. Thus, iron willpower is the most essential prerequisite to be successful in life.
To sum up, although some might not do academically wonderful, their exceptional skills could make them achieve everything by leaps and bounds in life. After all, where there is a will, there is a way.
