These days, crime is increasing day by day in society. While some people think that television and computer games which show violence are the factors responsible for this, others refuse to agree and argue that these programs have no remarkable effect on society. In my opinion, media violence does have an impact on society.
One of the primary reasons is that children are spending a lot of time watching violent movies or playing violent games. Adolescents of this generation sometimes start imitating what they see on screen. Undoubtedly, teenage is the age of confusion and a lot of questions. Hence, they try to find out answers from their favorite show. Subsequently, they believe that everything on the TV is the exact replica of the outside community. To exemplify, when the movie Acid Attack hit the theatres, the number of acid attackers increased because of its influence.
Moreover, when people watch violence on television, they start assuming that it is normal. Although it is a painful reality of our times, people take this kind of news for granted, as if it was bound to happen. Take, for instance, the case of domestic violence. Even children think that it is not such a big deal. Thus, this mindset is a result of watching crime serials and movies excessively.
To conclude, watching violent content is not good because, in my perspective, if people get comfortable and habituated to watching cruelty and try to copy the aggressive reactions then it is certainly dangerous for the society.

With passing time, the popularity of aggressive content on television and online games is increasing drastically. Some argue that this trend makes people more violent whereas others insist that it has no impact on their conduct. I believe that constant exposure to violent content directs the individuals in the same direction.
On the one hand, many individuals especially youngsters are watching more violent and aggressive / explicit movies. This creates a lasting impression on their mind and motivates them to imitate the same behaviour. By doing this, they harm themselves as well as others. Moreover, teenagers are attracted to online games which have violent content. These games sometimes may be proven fatal. For instance, the Blue Whale challenge was one of them and around 150 deaths of teenagers were noted across the globe as a result of playing this suicidal game.
Constant exposure to violent content also makes people immune to it. In the long run, teenagers will assume that aggression and violence are normal. Unfortunately, this will make them both perpetrators and victims of violent. They will find nothing wrong with behaving violently towards people who are not as powerful as them. At the same, they may silently accept being victims of violence in the hands of more powerful people.
In conclusion, we are influenced by what we see, hear and experience. Regular exposure to violent content certainly has a negative impact on people and communities. It normalizes violence and makes people less empathetic and more aggressive. In my opinion, the government should censor the content of prime time shows and video games to make the society more peaceful.
