Band 8 IELTS essay sample

While some people believe that children ought to be sent to schools, there are many parents who feel home schooling is more advantageous.  I am of the opinion that children who go to school enjoy better overall development than those who learn at home.

Firstly, at school, students learn many life lessons which help them become better human beings. For example, they make new friends and learn to socialize. They are also taught moral values of sharing and caring. Secondly, most schools follow a curriculum that gives equal importance to education as well as sports. This helps children to have an all round development of both the mind and the body. Playing sport as a hobby and also competitively, helps them to learn the qualities of working in a team while also developing their physical strength. Lastly, schools provide exposure to events and activities such as career fairs and inter school competitions. This is where students are introduced to the world outside of their own school. They are provided with ample opportunities that can help them choose a promising career and to have a better life.

There are some children who have special needs or require medical attention. Homeschooling is better for them because they might not receive the care and attention they need in a regular school. In such cases, home schooling is beneficial as parents will not be worried of their child’s health. Also, there are some families who live below the poverty line and they cannot afford to send children to school because of the high fees. For instance, educating a child at home will help the families to reduce additional costs such as field trips, proms, science fairs etc.

To conclude, after analyzing both sides of the argument it is not hard to see that home schooling may be beneficial for some children; however, for the vast majority of kids going to a regular school is a much better option because a school provides plenty of opportunities for children to learn from their peers and socialize.

Education is the key to a successful future or career. Some people insist that home schooling is the best way of teaching students while others believe that sending children to school is more beneficial. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages of both the ways of learning. In my opinion, sending children to school is the best way as it helps the overall development of students.

To commence with, teaching children at home is an affordable way for parents who do not have enough income to pay off school fees. Nowadays, the overall fee structure is unaffordable to many middle class families. The biggest advantage of going to school is that children will learn social skills. They will become extroverts with an outgoing personality. Moreover, parents are the first teachers of a child. A young one can learn and understand from their own families better than anyone else. For instance, parents can teach their children in their mother language which help young ones to understand better. Furthermore, parents can keep eyes on children 24/7 and teach them any time. Also, if they have any difficulties parents can solve them right away.

On the other hand, institute rules and regulations help to build a sense of discipline among pupils. As a result, children become well behaved as they have to follow strict policies in the school. In addition to this, learning at school helps the student to get more confidence. For example, they can participate in various competitions held at school and the competitive spirit will make them feel more confident.  Also, teachers at school are professionals who can explain theoretical and practical concepts better than parents. Another disadvantage is that home schooling does not provide children a lot of opportunities to socialise and hence they are more likely to become shy and diffident.

To conclude, home schooling certainly has some benefits, even so, in my opinion, learning at school is more important as it not only helps to improve the academic score but also contributes to the overall growth of the children.

As stated that, people have mixed opinions on whether children must be sent school for their better development or they should be taught at their homes. This essay will elaborate both sides of this argument, followed by my opinion.
To embark on, people, who are in favor of teaching young one’s at home, may think that kids can learn better when they are at home as their teacher would focus only on them not on entire class. To support that fact, one survey of Malty, school of Auckland, was conducted in 2019 and it was revealed that kids learn better when they study at their home because studying at home gives them a comfort and helping them to concentrate on their subjects.
On the other side, second group of this debate argues that schooling is essential for every student. During schooling, a one can pursue their study in competitive environment and can excel some other skills such as communication, decision making and many more. The University of Oxford is the leading example of this side. This school is well renowned, in the world, not only for imbibing educational knowledge in children but also for brushing their social skills.
In my view, schooling is best way to develop a child in modern world. Studying from home may give them a comfort for while but they would lose the opportunity to learn some other distinct skills which must be required when they will apply for job or decide to run their business.
To conclude, albeit both sides have string belief on their views, i would strongly recommend to send kids in schools so they can make their selves a better product in future market.

In the contemporary world, education for the young generation is still a pressing matter. While many people argue that home schooling is beneficial for child’s development, I strongly believe that the school environment is the most appropriate place for children to grow.

On the one hand, educating children at home has several potentials. The increase in educational quality is the main contributor to this phenomenon. Private teachers and tutors who are well-informed are arranged to educate children at home or through some online courses, hence they act as efficient supervisors for children, analyzing their students’ learning progress and addressing their misunderstandings in lectures. Moreover, it is indisputable that children who are taught at home have less stressful life than those in school because they do not compete with their peers, as a result, they build up a positive attitude toward learning that can develop significantly. Another factor is that parents will entirely spend more time with their children. For instance, parents can become their offsprings’ teachers, educating them social skills they are still insufficient by proposing some situations and require their children to find remedies for those.

On the other hand, schools play an integral part in children’s development. First and foremost, students can interact with their friends in friendly environment by involving in extra curriculum activities such as academic workshops or practical stems, so they can perceive knowledge and enhance their soft skills as well in those programme. For example, on special occasions, some competitions are held to stimulate their learners’ creativity and critical thinking What’s more, schools provide a wide range of curriculums logically and also evaluate their learners through academic results or continuous assessments, which create a comprehensive environment for students’ development.

In conclusion, although homeschooling is an optimum option for many parents, I still maintain my original viewpoint is that schools create ideal environment for the development of youngsters.

People have different views about children’s education at home or sending them to school for students development. While some people are of the opinion that children should send to school, instead of learning at the home. I believe that learning new things and subjects at home with parent’s guidance is the best thing rather than sending them to school.

On the one hand, some people argue that children should send to school for education because they will interact with new people and gain so much knowledge from fellow classmates. In other words, growing kids have the easy grasping power to learn new things. In addition, if they go to school students can learn a different new variety of subjects. For instance, in the year 2018 UNICEF(child protection) has conducted a survey about student’s knowledge, how quickly they learn with friends and teachers compared with guardians. In this many people voted for school education.

On the other hand, home education has many benefits. Parents know their child behavior so that they can easily make them study. In contrast, a child’s mother or father takes special care and makes them learn individually so that students feel secure and peaceful. Moreover, these days in many schools teachers keep more pressure on the child for educating them. For example, in the USA, in 2019 the new york times stated that young children having more work stress in schools.

In conclusion, they are many advantages to school education. In my opinion, home is the best place for a child’s development.

There can be different views among people regarding their children which is best for their development. Both, teaching their children at home and sending their children to school have their plethora of advantages. I would like to delve deep into both their advantages in the following essays.

Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for their children’s development. Children can learn a surfeit of knowledge from home as they will have access to the internet, books, and journals. Children can have their free will of knowledge when they are home taught. As they can study any time they want and do various kinds of other stuff which interest them other than studying. For example, a child who was taught at home will have many different types of skills which are not taught in school.

Some people believe that sending children to school is important for their development. Children who go to school have more chances to socialize and develop their knowledge and mental abilities. They get to know many types of new things from their friends and teachers. They will have direct access to a few features like playgrounds, labs, and debate competitions which will exponentially increase their both mental and physical abilities. In research, it is said that a child who went to school has more management and understanding skills than a child who was taught at home.

In conclusion, both children who were taught and children who went to school for their development have their respective set of advantages. But in my opinion, a child who went to school has more development in terms of both mental and physical abilities.

The issue of gay marriage remains controversial. Some people think that this trend has adverse effects on the society while others believe that it is seen as a natural trend and right for people to choose this type of marriage. Should gay marriage be legal?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

    Answer:
While some people believe that gay marriage should be seen as a natural trend and right for people to choose this type of marriage, Others believe that these kinds of marriages could lead to adverse effects on society. I strongly believe that gay marriage should be made legal so that people can have and lead a happy life. I will delve deep into this matter in the following essays.

Some people think that the gay marriage trend has adverse effects on society. As people believe that these kinds of marriages could lead to change in human genes and the behavior of future generations. As future generations are the backbone of every country. But research has revealed that these kinds of marriages do not have any kinds of effects oncoming future generations as every child born have their respective trait or quality of their gender.

Gay marriages should be made a natural trend because people can not only find love and caring from the opposite gender, they can also find it in the same gender. It is also their right to choose which type of marriage they need to undergo. Few people can not find the same love and affection which is provided by the same gender person rather than opposite gender person. For example, many actors and actresses have undergone gay marriage and are living happily with their partners.

In conclusion, I profoundly believe that gay marriages should be made legal as it is their first ultimate step to a new and happy journey of their life and people should support it rather than showing disbelief in their marriage.

This also seems band 6.5 to me. Both content and grammar need improvement. Gay marriage will not result in babies. Then what impact it is going to have on their genes? You have to be born first before you can even have genes.

Hello mam could you please check my band for this question:
Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think that change is always a good thing.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

    Answer:
Many people prefer to live their lives without any disturbance and doing the same things. While other believe that, it is also a good thing to change how we live. In this essay views of both sides will be discussed and I will give my opinion.

Few people favor living without hassle and doing the same things. Because changes cannot be accustomed by some people and live doing the same things throughout their lives. in few mentally unstable people, changes in their lives or surroundings could lead to a few fatal or difficult situations. However, without changes in their lives, there might be few boring situations but they can live happily without any trouble.

While some others think that change is always a good thing. Changes in lives might result in a few marvelous beginnings and wonderful situations. Changes make our lives worth living with few painful situations and a few astounding situations. These can develop an individual human being who is fragile and weak into a firm person.

For instance, a person who lived only in different places and in different cultures has numerous types of knowledge and both mental and physical strength to live wherever he wants to. Although few hurdles are followed with changes, these always result in a few spectacular scenarios of people’s lives.

On summing up both sides of the argument, I personally believe that having changes in lives is a very good thing to experience various kinds of physical and mental developments which will be helpful in future.

  7. Cauveri says:

Youngsters serve as the backbone and future of a nation’s economy and hence, their development is a matter of supreme concern for all. This essay would discuss the benefits of both, home-education and school education, before reaching any conclusion.

On the one hand, proponents of home-education point to the innumerable benefits primary care givers can bring to a child’s overall growth. Firstly, they believe that parents can devise learning techniques that cater to the specific needs of their children. In other words, they argue that traditional teaching methods may not necessarily work for all students, especially, differently abled pupils. Secondly, children spend majority of their time travelling long distances to the school which can, rather, be judiciously utilized. Finally, technological advancements have paved the way for free online courses available from the world’s imminent teachers, hence, reducing the need to attend formal school.

On the other hand, some people argue that school education serves important benefits. Primarily, at an individual level, various clubs and activities like debating, sports and music are imperative for the physical and mental development of a child. Secondly, at a social level, schooling may instill various real-world skills, like sharing, kindness, working in teams, understanding groups dynamics and conflict resolution. All these skills in turn are a pre-requisite in today’s fast evolving workplace. Thirdly, on a cultural level, educators would agree, that it propels students towards greater understanding and acceptance of a variety of cultural and community perspectives.

To conclude, whilst home education serves important benefits ranging from reduced time wastage in travelling to free education available at the hands of technology, I strongly believe that its benefits do not outweigh that of school education which is rather necessary for overall physical, socio-cultural and psychological development.
