Numerous individuals opine that learners travelling abroad are likely to provide their homelands with several advantages. In my opinion, studying overseas does have its drawbacks, yet the advantages of this practice overwhelm the negatives.
Admittedly, there have been various cases in which nations gained no profit from such development. Many students going to other countries have a tendency to settle down in the place they went to, and this is because this learning process originated from the desire for personal benefits, not national ones. They stay because of the amenities that the foreign countries provide, and they want their families to have similar advantages. Consequently, they buy goods and find jobs there, which helps developing the nations they are living in. The responsibility to contribute to the prosperity of their place of birth is completely forgotten.
However, in my opinion, not everybody seeking knowledge outside their countries follows the same path. Numerous learners return home after the period of studying and make use of the knowledge they have gathered to enrich their nations. In the past, the great uncle Ho Chi Minh travelled abroad in an attempt to find a way to break the grip of the French colonisation in Vietnam. More recently, the well-known Dang Tran Tung who visited the USA for studying decided to head back home and establish an English center specialized in helping its attendees achieve high scores in the IELTS exam. While there are individuals only thinking for themselves, there are also others who believe that it is their duty to use the knowledge they gained for the betterment of their country.
To sum up, countries are sometimes incapable of gaining advantages from pupils studying overseas as they choose not to return. Nevertheless, the returning students use their wisdom to improve the status of their own nations.
