Band 8 IELTS essay sample

Some people opine that artificially intelligent robots will gradually replace human workers. In my opinion, this is very unlikely to happen. Simple human tasks can be performed by robots; however, complex jobs requiring cognitive touch will still need to be done by humans.

This essay will discuss why only a few jobs will be replaced by robots and the others / the rest will continue to need human effort. Simple human tasks that are repetitive and conditional in nature can easily be automated. This is because companies believe that the accuracy and productivity of high volume monotonous tasks are higher when performed by robots than humans. A survey on automation in back end banking process in India reveal that not only does the process errors drop by 95% but also productivity increases by 80% if robotic automation is implemented. For these reasons, human effort on regular menial tasks can be replaced by robotic automation.

Conversely, jobs requiring qualities like emotion and intuition will continue to be done by humans. This is because fields like psychology will always need a doctor’s diagnosis. For instance, in the USA, while all patients undergo computer based mental tests, the patient’s diagnosis can only be confirmed accurate by a psychiatrist post face to face counselling sessions. Hence, many complex tasks that need human judgement cannot be replaced by robots.

To conclude, it is quite possible for robots to replace a few human jobs. Artificially intelligent robots can replace simple human tasks and support them in a few complex tasks; however, they can never replace all complex tasks done by them. Ultimately, non monotonous tasks requiring human touch can never be fully replaced.

With the advancement in technology, some people claim that all jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence. However, I am of the opinion that there are some jobs which cannot be replaced by robots.
Undoubtedly, robots can do most of the jobs more efficiently and can save a lot of time. Some jobs related with clerical works consume an ample of time, if it was done by human hands. Similarly, some tedious work like arranging the goods or heavy machinery, needs a lot of effort and manpower. These problems can be overcome by the introduction of robots. A good illustration for this is the use of robots in automobile manufacturing companies, where the body parts are assimilating by robots, in this way individual get enough time to concentrate on other pressing issues in the industry.
On the other hand, besides its unlimited benefits, there are some sectors where human touch or adaptability is needed. Primarily, artificial intelligent robots are performing based on the data feed on their brain, this means they are unable to work when any change happens sudden. Secondly, they are not suitable for the psychological field because robots are free from emotions and relationships. Hence, they are unable to find out the problems associated with this field.
To conclude, robots are equipped with better speed and endurance than humans which can save time and can give relaxation to humans from their tedious work. However, there are some places where emotions are considered or adaptability otherwise, blending with the situations can only be handled by human beings.
