While some people believe that rich nations should use their wealth to provide food and education to poor people in under-developed countries, others argue that taking care of the poor people is the responsibility of their respective governments. In my opinion, wealthy nations should support poor countries.
First of all, rich countries have a moral responsibility to help poor people from war-torn areas and countries. Terrorist activities in some countries have led to war like situations where people do not have anything to eat or access to education. Countries which are self sufficient should provide support to such countries as a moral obligation. For example, nations such as Syria and Afghanistan have become heavily poor after multiple wars but countries such as India and The United States of America have always looked after them and supported them without expecting anything in return. Therefore, wealthy nations should help poor countries on the moral grounds.
Secondly, by helping undeveloped nations, rich countries can create good international relations which can enhance their trade and reputation. If one country is helping another country with basic amenities, import and export will flourish. There are some other reasons as well to help poor countries. Often times the poverty in poor nations is caused by the thoughtless actions of rich nations. For example, America is responsible for most of the problems in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obviously, they have a responsibility to help. Another reason is that poor people are a threat to world peace. If their needs are not fulfilled, they will take to crime. This can lead to activities like terrorism. By helping poor countries, rich nations can make the world a safer place to live in.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that rich countries should always support poor countries because it is their moral responsibility to help vulnerable human beings and it can also benefit them through improved international trade relationships with those countries.
