In the past, people were fitter and more active than they are today. There are various reasons for this and they include the sedentary lifestyle, dependence on modern gadgets and work pressure. These problems can be eradicated through some proactive measures which are discussed below.
To begin with, people are unhealthy these days due to modern ways of living. In this era of advancement many new machines are available in the market. People prefer these to avoid physical work which is tiring and time consuming. For instance, dishwashers and washing machines are the prominent examples of automation. These appliances are really fruitful to perform routine household chores. Moreover, instead of engaging in outdoor activities in their free time, people now prefer to play video games or watch TV. This has disastrous consequences for a person’s wellbeing. For example, obesity is quite common among youngsters these days. Secondly, work style has changed drastically. People sitting in front of computers for long hours can develop high blood pressure, cholesterol and poor eyesight.
Some measures that can be implemented to tackle these problems include making fitness a part of the routine. For example, a daily walk of 30 minutes can cure many illnesses. Furthermore, companies should build gym within the premises for their employees. This will make employees healthy and productive. Additionally, unhealthy eating habits are responsible for poor health and hence people should avoid junk food and eat nutritional home cooked food only.
In conclusion, depending more and more on machines is not the right way to live life. “Health is wealth” so exercising routinely is a must for a healthy body.
