Recently, many sea animals are transferred from their natural habitats to manmade water bodies in the recreational parks for the people to have fun seeing them. I believe that relocating these marine organisms has more demerits than merits.
On the one hand, relocating / moving / transferring sea creatures from their natural habitat to the amusement parks has some benefits. For example, scientists can make extensive research about that marine animal and it also helps in preventing the extinction of certain sea animals. Relocating any organism from the ocean requires a thorough study about the actual environment that particular animal lives in. In some cases, marine biologists have also predicted the extinction of certain sea animals and therefore have taken steps to develop a suitable environment for the organisms to thrive in future. Obiously, human activity and warming of ocean waters are leading to the extinction of many ocean creatures and hence there is a need to move them to safer waters.
On the other hand, the main disadvantage is that these animals are not adapted to live in artificial habitats. This puts their survival at risk. Of course, if they are facing the threat of extinction in their natural habitat, there is no harm in trying to conserve them in manmade water bodies. But, moving healthy and safe creatures from their natural habitat to aquariums for the pleasure of humans is certainly unethical.
In conclusion, I would say that the marine organisms will be safer in their own natural habitats than in manmade ponds. Even though the artificial environment is mimicked well for the creatures to survive, the survival rate is low in the recreational parks.
