Band 7 IELTS essay sample

In the recent era of internet and cutting-edge technology, it is becoming easier for everyone to approach any medium to get news about the happenings all over the world. However, the ways in which these pieces of information are being provided are affected by many factors and controlled by a person or team specialist in editing news. In this essay, catalysts for such decisions and their impact on common man will be discussed.

There are various authorities these days by the orders of whom the information is advertised in newspapers or broadcasted on televisions or over the internet. Some of the major influencers for these are the Political Leaders of that particular area, the environment[ , interests of the general public of the area, crime and health situations as well as rate of inflation of a particular town or area upon which the decisions for news are based. As in 2020 covid-19 was on peak in almost all parts of the world so, news related to these were majorly found everywhere whether it was on news channels or on social media and in the paper too.

As the circumstances or events of an area decide the nature of the news so are the affect of these on the lives of common people. Some persons are so much affected by the bad news circulating all, around that they start suffering from depression. This affects their lives badly and fills it with negativity. So is the case with good news, it lightens the mood of everyone, lessens the anxiety in the society. A case in point is the day by day increasing inflation rate in Pakistan due to which general public was suffering a lot but a sigh of relief was taken by everyone when petroleum rates were reduced by the government. It reduced the stress level of so many people.

In conclusion, it is right to make choice in publishing the news but a balance should be kept in doing so. Only giving bad news or highlighting only the good in society can make people assume about one perspective of their community.
