Thanks to the advent of those domestic / home appliances which are performing the vast majority of house chores, more and more women have been joining the workplace. I believe that this can bring about more benefits than drawbacks.

It is true that women’s dedication towards their work may be detrimental to themselves. Automatic machines can reduce some of their burden. For example, using microwave ovens can reduce the time spent on cooking food and usage of washing machines can extricate women from daily laundry. However, women still have to be involved in looking after their babies and helping older children with their homework. Such involvement coupled with their daily job tasks reduces the time available for rest, and this will take a toll on their health and happiness.

However, working mothers can create benefits for their families. To begin with, the additional income brought by the women enables the families to have better standard of living and makes even high ticket items like foreign vacations affordable to them. Besides, higher earning is also the prerequisites of their children’s access to high-quality education resources, such as private schools where kids can achieve better academic performance, since they can receive better guidance from experienced instructors. This increases their children’s chances of being admitted to reputable universities, which is extremely beneficial to their future development.

In conclusion, while it is true that working women do not get much time for themselves, the additional income they bring in benefits the entire families.

With the advent of technology, mothers are finding some spare time and thus, are able to pursue their career aspirations. In my opinion, for a family, the advantages of having a working mother far surpass its drawbacks. This essay will discuss how a family benefits when the mother has a job.

To commence with, the biggest benefit for the family where the mother is working is that mothers lend an additional hand to support the financial responsibilities of that house and hence, more requirements of that family get fulfilled. In addition, it can be seen that kids are more independent and more willing to do household chores when their mother has a job. This makes them understand the challenges faced by working women and thus, it helps them when they are adults. Moreover, it shatters the age old belief that men should earn money while women should be confined to their homes.

However, all these benefits come at a cost. Working mothers are not able to give enough time to their kids. Children need their mother in their formative years and if she is not around, there are high chances of them getting misled by bad company. Furthermore, it has been seen that certain kids distance themselves from their families and stop sharing their feelings when enough time is not given by their mothers and that in turn affects the harmony of the family. Nevertheless, all of the aforementioned situations can be handled if mothers are able to balance their personal and professional life and define some priorities.

To recapitulate, there are more pros than cons when a mother works and those drawbacks can be tackled if mothers set their priorities and maintain work-life balance.
