Band 7.5 IELTS essay sample
According to some people it is pivotal to emphasize on the protection of animal species that are under extinction: however, others disagree. In their opinion, issues of human beings ought to be given more priority. This essay will discuss why I think that both the problems need to be treated with utmost importance.
On the one hand, some people maintain the view that attention should be given to the rising issues of animal extinction. The primary reason is that animals are an integral part of the ecosystem. When many different species of animals go extinct, the repercussions will be felt across the planet. Extinction of wildlife will disrupt the food chain and it is only a matter of time before humans find themselves in trouble. What’s more, animals also own the planet and they have the right to exist here just like us humans. Killing them for our benefits and engaging in activities that make their existence difficult is not only unethical but also dangerous.
On the other hand, problems faced by humans also need to be addressed. The truth is that a large section of humanity still lives in poverty and ill health. It is important to uplift them and a great deal of funding is essential to achieve this. Obviously, there is a limit to the amount of money governments can use for wildlife conservation.
In conclusion, every creature on earth deserves equal right to survive and it is possible only when they live in co operation with each other. Hence, I think that efforts should be made to protect all species that face the threat of extinction but it should not be at the expense of human welfare and needs.

A significantly large number of reports state that due to steady growth in air and water pollution rare animal species will be extinct by the next decade. In my opinion, the animal kingdom contributes a great deal to the world and need to be looked after. Human beings, on the other hand, are capable of solving their health problems and can support their immunity by consuming herbs and medicines.
Experts would argue that animals that receive excessive care, attention and looking after have shown to lead longer and healthier lives. For example, in 2011 the gorillas population in Cape Town zoo was rapidly declining due to the lack of medical assistance. As soon as, the government introduced the Gorilla fund, they received proactive health care and it helped increase their immunity and ability to procreate. Secondly, if proper aid is not provided to the animal kingdom, rare species will be nonexistent which will directly impact the tourist footfall in their respective countries.
Human beings are blessed with mental, emotional and physical capabilities to build a life of their own. While they do require medical aid from time to time, they can look after their own kin and adapt to the changes in the society. They are a much stronger community who can build, protect and sustain the society they live in.
To sum up, animals including mammals and the sea life are diminishing on a rapid pace. If they are not provided a healthy livelihood, we may no longer see them in this world by the end of the 21st century.
