Band 9 IELTS essay sample
According to some people most of the important things in life do not have a price tag attached to them. I do not quite agree with this idea. While I do admit that many important things in life are actually free, there are also many other things that can only be bought with money.
Not every important thing in life is free. People need financial resources to purchase basic necessities. These include food, shelter and clothes which cannot be bought without spending money. Thus, a person needs funds for their survival and to make both ends meet. Education is not free; neither is healthcare. Without these necessities it is impossible to lead a happy and contented life. If you have a family you have to earn enough to support them. Actually, even the love between family members cannot be sustained if their basic necessities are not met. Obviously, there are many things that have to be bought.
Of course, there are also many things that come free of cost. For example, the love of parents is free. The joy and security that we get within the four walls of our home is free. Friendship is free. Sunlight and rain are free. All of these things are crucial for our existence and they come free of cost.
In conclusion, certain things very important for our emotional well being are certainly free. However, there are many other things that only money can buy. In my opinion, it is important for everyone to earn enough to satisfy their physical and material needs. At the same time, it is also important for us to find time to enjoy other blessings that come free of cost.
Many people think that important things in life are mostly free or can’t be bought. Do you agree or disagree?
The majority of the population asserts that vital things in life are almost of no cost or cannot be purchased. This essay agrees with this aforementioned statement and shall elaborate further in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To embark upon, the first and foremost precious thing that every individual can afford or will to achieve is a great friendship. Friends are the companions with whom we made our bond stronger until the end of our lives. This is because of no expenditure and money cannot bring this fulfillment in the affluent families. For example, according to a survey conducted in developed countries, it was discovered that 75of wealthy people are not satisfied with their hefty incomes and require trustworthy friends with whom they can enjoy their life to the fullest.
Furthermore, happiness is an imperative factor that would not be acquired in money or expensive items. Happiness can be found with family, relatives, friends, or work and also could be attained in any part of our life. In contrast, a successful person sometimes feels lonely and thrive for small joyful moments. For instance, an individual feels blessed when he is with his beloved ones even though his status and income are low. As a result, a satisfied person not only is good in health but also productive in the work environment and could reach success at the earliest. Therefore, it is agreed that things that can be bought are happiness and eternal friendships that sustain longer.
To conclude, having said the above-mentioned reasons, I firmly opine that there are many prominent factors in life that people can accomplish effortlessly without incurring any cost or expenses as friends and joy.

Hi, Manjusha
Question:
Online shopping is increasing dramatically. How could this trend affect our environment and the kinds of jobs required?
Response:
It is true that online shopping is becoming a more popular choice among consumers. This essay will discuss in what ways the rise of online purchases can have a significant impact on the environment and relatable jobs.
Switching to online shopping could actually bring two primary beneficial outcomes and one drawback. As online shopping and sales occur on websites, retailers need not build physical shops, thus saving extra space. Consequently, this leads to less destruction of forests and habitats of many species. Furthermore, people will stop constantly going to shops, which could, in turn, cause less traffic on the roads and less air pollution. However, such a switch might give rise to more packaging, which means more non-biodegradable waste. Non-biodegradable wastes could immensely threaten the quality of soil, causing many agricultural problems to farmers.
Online purchases also impact the job sectors from an economic perspective. Many shop workers will likely lose their jobs, and their ability to attract and communicate with customers will no longer be valued. Consequently, this might result in higher unemployment rates and more stress on higher education. Sales assistants will have to get an official undergraduate degree to work in other job sectors. Fired shop workers, for instance, will probably apply for an undergraduate degree and find a prospective job to feed their families. Moreover, the demand for IT might reach its peak, stressing the need for skilled web designers and programmers.
In conclusion, it seems to me that our physical surroundings and many shop-related professions will face major changes due to the increase in the popularity of online purchasing.
