The objective of education is to ensure the all round development of children. Since team sports improve their physical fitness, team spirit and communication and social skills, I agree with the argument that they should be a part of a child’s education.

When children play a team sport, they learn many valuable skills that will stand them in good stead. For example, they learn to work with a common objective. They learn to share and put the interests of the group above theirs. For example, in a game of football not everybody can score a goal. Most teams will typically have only two or three strikers but the entire team has to work with one objective to help those strikers score the goals that win the match. Thus when children play a game like football they learn that everybody has to work together to achieve common goals. Needless to say, kids who grow up playing team sports will be excellent team players at the workplace. This quality is particularly important in this age where winning is all about collaborating. In addition, team players are less likely to be self-centered.

Another advantage of playing a sport is that it enables children to accept success and defeat gracefully. If sports are part of education, all children will get an opportunity to play. Otherwise, they may only focus on academics and thus fail to enjoy the benefits of team sports.

To conclude, considering all the above points, it is not hard to see that children who play a team game are much more likely to enjoy better physical and emotional well-being than children who do not play any team sports. Hence I fully agree with the argument that team sports should be a part of education.

Sport plays an essential role in a child’s development. Many people opine that learning to play a team sport / team sports is a vital component of a child’s education. I completely agree with this statement and this essay will elaborate on the reasons behind my standpoint.

To commence with, a child is like a piece of clay that can be molded in any way. A child in their formative years learns a lot from the activities they are involved in. Team sports teach children how to cooperate, delegate and lead to achieve common goals. Children get to understand that there can be different perspectives of looking at a same problem and thus, they need to keep their minds open when somebody’s opinion differs from theirs. It is even observed that adults who grew up playing a team sport, such as cricket or football, have more cordial relationships with their colleagues and are more respectful of the different opinions others have.

To further support the argument, team sports promote equality as every member of the team has their role to play and the team can only win when all the players perform their best. It teaches children that it is not about me but we. When a child is involved in team sports, it does not matter to him which race or ethnicity different players belong to. What matters is the end goal of winning the game.

To recapitulate, team sports teach children various vital life skills that are needed to be successful in life. Moreover, it prevents hatred and promotes peace and creates a basic foundation of mutual respect every human being should have for another human being.
